I might record something in a few days. I have played for 2 years. Although I'm not a bad player, I'm usually more interested in tinkering with my tube amps or my guitars.

If I can get the vid of me and my band at our last concert (The tap room in ann arbor MI if anyone is near there) I would post it but Ill have to take a vid at our next concert (2-3 weeks). Im almost 12 and this is my 9th year, soon to be my 10th.

EDIT: I have a gibson melody maker (new version) and a Gretsch electromatic.
Sure, post all vids of you playing!

Sorry, you say you are 12 years old? And what do 9th and 10th year old means?

I know of misunderstood you...

Year and a half, impressive, you should be ahead of me by a lightyear or two [hundreds]. Videos please! :thanks:

Heh, I wish. I had more skill with the trumpet than the guitar, but the trumpet isn't exactly something your friends would listen to :p

Mainly I've just learned rhythm, no leads for me lol.

No you heard me right. Ive been playing since I was 3. I played classical till I was 5, then changed to rock. Now I play rock and blues and am studying jazz. My band plays at local bars and coffee shops now and then every few weeks.
Holy sh*t :D
Reminds me of Michael Angelo Batio... if Wikipedia is to be trusted, he started playing a guitar at age of 10. At age of 12, he played far better than his mentors and teachers.

I mean, look at this crazy dude:

Post videos!

ReNNo here also plays the trumpet!

Actually when I think about it, I'm also playing a guitar for a year and a half... but since I'm at dorm, and can't exactly carry a guitar back and forth, I'm only playing through weekends, and not every weekend at that too, so take one seventh of the year and a half, and that's about my time :D

Well, I play better than a lot of 18+year olds but not even close to as good as my teacher. ;)

EDIT: Yknow what? Ill just post a ~30 sec vid of me alone when I get home...
Please do that. You most certanly dwarf me by far, and that's what I always want to see.

What do you play usually? How about that Trooper?

I have an old Martin D-35. I used to play Bluegrass but haven't touched it much for a while. Time has a way of slowing the fingers down :-(

Any ERG players and/or Meshuggah fans 'round here? I rock an 8-string, play rhythm guitar in my Math Metal band, and can cover countless Meshuggah songs. I should post a video sometime :D

I just googled "Basic guitar chords" and started from there.

Also, acoustic guitars are best ones to learn on.

My little bad luck was that I had only my Fender to learn on. And learning on one of the best guitars is not good because, now I have difficulties playing acoustic guitars and cheaper electric guitars.

It's like learning to drive a diesel car first. Can't drive regular gas one after it :D

So you're in luck!

Haha LOL indeed.

In any case, could you post pictures of the guitar?
Also, do you have nylon or metal strings on it?
