Yeah, I did, and I think it sounds cool. The nanomachines part, what did you think??!
But I don´t think we will have nanoassembler ready in a few years :)

i think nanomachines are an awesome technology that can help mankind greatly but theres that itch in the back of my mind that reminds me of the situation of when the cyborgs took over in the future of the "terminator" series of movies. smart AI that self replicates wouldnt be a good situation. especially if they ever started to dislike or were programmed to dislike/destroy humans/carbon based life.

Read "Prey" by Michael Crighton. It is centered around this exact idea.

And yes, that would be horribly scary. However, doomsday scenarios have stopped bothering me for two reasons: firstly, there are too many to even get my mind around, and secondly, there is nothing I can do about them.
