I read something along these lines quite a while ago.

A prize was offered to anyone who could come up with a "working" Tricorder.
I think the parameters where it need to be able to read your pulse rate, blood temperature & blood pressure at upto 3ft away.

That is some really neat stuff. Star Trek is a great inspiration for generations of fans/scientist!

Now if they could only get that transporter working and a 'real' space ship!

Yep, I agree and it really amazes me to see some of the Star Trek devices become a reality. I just wish I was an electronics wiz so I could invent a Tricorder and win $10 Mil. That should give some incentive.

I was reading this the other day and had some ideas about how it'd work. Unfortunately I don't have the skills to build and code one of these.

I can't wait till the day I got to the doctors and they have these devices :D

I have an app on my Droid called "Tricorder" free from the app store , anyways it uses all the sensors on the phone , GPS,, prox sensor , gyroscope and so on .....it's great yous hould try it
