Going to Cali, Need some advice.

Hey guys, thanks in advanced for reading/replying.

I am going to California in two weeks for 10 days to visit my Aunt and her family. She is located in Mission Viejo, 92694.

Since I live up here in the middle of Maine, and Radioshack has closed down (errr :cryyy, we have nothing up here for shops that have electronic tools and devices for SMD/SMT. (Basically same tools and devices for laser building) I was hoping some folks on here from roughly that area could recommend me to some stores they like to go to that would be like Radioshack, etc. in the Orange County area. I always buy my stuff online, but it's nice to able to go to a place and physically pick the item up and buy it, even if it is a bit overpriced from online sales, at least I know exactly what I am getting! And, as you're all into the same hobby as I, you would know all the best places to go.

They have a few SMD related items, but I cannot find SMD devices themselves at this store yet.

If nothing else, call one of those Radio Shacks and ask them who in the area sells what you need, if they don't have it.

But if I found myself there I would find a Carl's Jr. and get a Double Western Bacon Cheeseburger. They have an union ring on the bottom and the BBQ sauce is delicious.

Happens to be my favorite burger there. I even worked there once upon a time - a few decades ago.

And if you're into burgers, don't forget In-N-Out Burger is out here too. No 'westerns' on their menu but widely known for very tasty burgers and fries.

Damn, everywhere I look I see commercials and people talking about food when I am on a low calorie diet, have been for a month and I want to eat everything high calorie!

I know that feeling, about every time I start a fasting period I start seeing the food commercials.
By the 2nd or 3rd day it's no so bad, but the first 36 hours is tough and around the 4th and 5th day I get hungry again, but 48-96 hours I loose appetite and get increased energy, I think it's natures way of saying, HERE'S A POWER BOOST, NOW GO FIND SOME DARN FOOD!!!

Ricker, can you swing by my friends house in San Diego while your there, and show him a few lasers. I only get to send him cell phone pics. His name is Steve you should have no problem finding him, just go there and ask if anyone knows him ok. I would love to go and just browse a Radio Shack also and I swear exactly the time I started this hobby all the "Shacks" started shutting down on our East coast Have a safe happy trip and eat some burgers for all us on a diet "I think the goverment even knows when we are dieting" because I swear these commercials only pop up when I do:undecided:

:crackup: I wanted to say something similar but didn't want to offend our California members. I have been there a few times but not in many years now, my advice is just don't go there. RedCowboy what really makes California a problem is that eventually they move to other states and bring their progressive BS with them, just wait until some of them move in next to where you do your target shooting or duck hunting and then they call 911 the first time they hear gun shots, then they start complaining about hearing gun shots and want the target shooting or hunting outlawed in the area. :wtf:

I've been to both Carl's Jr and InandOut Burger, both are amazing!! This will be my 6th trip to CA, but first with the new fold love of this hobby.
