There's no such thing as glow in the dark clothing dye, so you can rule that out. If I were you, I'd be looking at getting some glow in the dark fabric paint, it doesn't feel as soft as dye and comes of faster but it'll do....just make sure the product says fabric paint not just paint.

EDIT: just found a site with glow in the dark fabric paints http://www.dharmatrading.com/html/eng/1714-AA.shtml

A whole shirt glowing in the dark? That sounds so epic that if you find a place that sells them, I'm buying one too :D

^ lol. looks like a whole glow in the dark tie is the best i can do for a reasonable price.

the best i can find is this. WorldAglow - Worldaglow is glow paint, el wire, kits, inverter, sequencer, electroluminescent wire, LED signs, Glow Sticks, glow fabric, patches, embroidery, glow icecubes, lighted shelving, CCFL, EEFL, boise, custom, signage, worldwide, free, shippi

expensive but it will be split between 5 guess and sewn around a white tie. only problem is that it is in the us an i am in Aus. my formal is in less than 2 weeks so hopefully they offer express postage. i have emailed them to find out.

thanks for your help guys.

Hi all,

Sorry to drag up an old thread...but if the op is still looking for a Glow in the Dark Tie, I make them. And other things with glow in the dark fabric. This material is awesome! The picture was taken after the clothes had been exposed to regular light for about 10 minutes, then moved to a dark area of my house.

Did you create an account just to sell clothing? On a laser forum? I don't mean to flame, but if you want to work up enough reputation to sell ANYTHING, you need more than one post. And that doesn't mean go spam everywhere, that will get you banned. People buy things from good and helpful members.

I wouldn't be to harsh on him. Normal spammers don't read and just post the crap they have for sale that is completely unrelated.

This guy must have been lurking to find this thread, and then he posted relevant info. I don't think this deserves classification as spam.

Just my thoughts.

Sorry for the intrusion. The truth of the matter is I received a PM from someone in the glow in the dark forum I am an active member in, with a link to here-the post about someone looking for a gitd tie, suggesting I post a pic of my ties. Won't happen again, I assure you. I will ask the mods to delete my account. I'm not a random spammer.

LOL

abbeytoo, please don't get mad for this, some users are so used to see spammers posting irrelevant posts everywhere, that sometimes overreact a bit.

No need to delete your account and left the forum, as far as i see, your post is still relevant with the OP request, also if a bit late, and is still an helpful information, to know that there are peoples that make these things, for the OP, if he's still searching for them (or for any other that want to play with GITD clothes and BR lasers, if for that ;))

Just my opinion

We should move this thread to the "Flashlights, LEDs, & Other Lighting" section

Thanks guys, I hate spammers just as much as you do. I just wasn't thinking and should have just said thanks to the person that sent me the link. I'll introduce myself and tell you a little about how this whole thing started for me.

I am all about GITD! I love it. I play with it. I make everything glow and sell some of it. Did I mention I love it!

The forum I 'live' in is Glow in the Dark It is run by the people who have glowinc.com which is a great place (a bit spendy tho) to get gitd powders or paints. I've belonged to the forum for several years now. We don't tolerate BS spam either.

The forum started out as a place where a bunch of us were learning to do sky murals with gitd paint. Invisible by day and starry at night. None of us knew what we were doing, so we fed off of each others ideas.

Since that time, the forum has grown immensley, covering all sorts of gitd related things. We have a flashlight mod section that is real popular with people from another light forum, candlepower, or something like that.

We have our resident 'experts' in different areas, like star painting, silkscreening, fishing junk, and I am the go to person for casting epoxy and resin. Oh and anything cloth. The fabric is ridiculous. Seriously. Also stupid expensive. $50 per yard. That is insane. It comes from Australia, the only place it is manufactured.

The clothes gig sort of happened second and by accident. A bunch of new people were coming into the forum and asking "How do I make my cornhole bags glow?" EEP! I am from California and the first thing that popped into my head was - incarcerated for life! some kind of prison porn! I pretty much ignored the questions. After about the 20th person asked the same thing, I decided to investigate and find out wtf they were talking about.

I googled cornhole and about fell out of my chair! It is a bean bag game and it is HUGE. HUGE!! These people love this game so much and are so OCD about it, they want to keep playing after it gets dark! Problem is, they cant see the bags at night. Enter me....I found the gitd material and started making glow in the dark cornhole bags. lol

Since I had the fabric, I was commissioned to make a pair of jeans for a lady in NY. Then a jacket. And the latest thing was the skirt, vest and tie. No, I've made several ties, actually. Be warned, the price tags are not for the weak of heart. (I got 800 for the jeans) Everything is one of a kind.

I also came across a deal on some gitd adhesive backed vinyl, like sign shops use only never have because it is so damned expensive. I use that to make decals for those stupid cornhole boards, glow in the dark fret markers for guitars, gun sights, window decals for cars, and glow boards that you use a laser pointer with to 'write' on. I have a big piece of the vinyl on my ceiling in my bedroom that I 'scribble' on. So I'm not too far out of my element, being here. I love what the Grafitti Research Labs did with lasers!

I'm just a geeky old lady (probably old enough to be your grandma or at least your mom), who joined the ranks of the unemployed last year, trying to get by and have fun at the same time.

abbeytoo is the name I use everywhere, so if you see it, it's me. Come on over to 'my' forum and check us out! glowforum.com
