So a lot of my current DIY gas aspirations involve custom blown glass, or at least custom "altered" glass.
For the rest of this post, assume I know nothing about glass working, how glass behaves, and how easily it bonds to other glass .... because I don't.
So I am looking for someone that can do fairly basic glass blowing (relatively speaking for laser tubes). I need someone that can blow a tube similar to a policeman's nightstick. Or a capital L with the step of said L extended beyond the base.
As far as dimensions, 10mm ID, 13mm OD, 48cm long, I will also need two other glass tubes that match the same ID/OD, but 10cm long.
This is as basic as I can put it without digging out the diagrams I have drawn up on graph paper.
Each end needs to be squared off and unsealed. That little sidekick bit on the side of the tube will be sealed off with a refractory metal electrode embedded into the tube. Any refractory metal will do. Tungsten, molybdenum, etc.
Also, if you could do it easily/cheaply, I need two little nozzle/nipple extensions, one on each end. I will be using these bits to hook up the vac out, and gas in for the flowing gas portion of said laser. This isn't critical, but if it's easy, and cheap, I'd like it done. Currently my plan involves using brass T joints for these elements.
If you can do this for me, and for a good price, I will be coming back to you for several other tube designs. Including designs for HeSe/HeHg, other HVLs, HeXe, Ar/Kr, CuBr/CVL, etc. So impress me
