It is sometime hard to believe but there are other gadgets than lasers. :D
I bought a Ganzo knive set. It is unbelievable good for such a cheap price.
For the price of ONE M140 diode you can buy FOUR Ganzo knives.
Equally dangerous as lasers.

Those look good.

Now go and build a laser aiming module so that you won't miss when you throw these. :p

There are 440C printed on the blade. Some people said that the metal is inferior to the 440C. I am not a metallurgist to argue with that but the feel of the blade is very solid and sharp. That is good enough for me.

You mean this smiley ? :D

From my experience 440C steel is the standard type used in knives and can get very sharp but cannot handle a beating. So far, I've found S30V steel to be the best. Unfortunately, it cost a pretty penny. Anyway, 440c is great for everyday uses but dont' expect them to excel in the woods ;)

@BLord - do tell us where you ordered those from. You must know many of us want to be as cool as you, and as such, we need all the help we can get.

Seriously though, I am always in the market for decent knives that won't break my heart if lose, break or give them away. :)

Yup, that is where my Ganzo set came from. I find the G710 is most impressive knife of the four. Excellent axis-lock with no play in the blade. Not a single wiggle in either direction. The G702 is the runner-up.

@Blord

Is there any blade play?

Meaning that if you hold the handle in one hand, the blade with your other hand and move them around side to side, does the blade wobble?

Any chance you could take a picture of one of them from the top, and bottom up close?

A lot of times with cheaper knives, what I've seen done, is a the blade will be somewhat thinner than the space for it, and there will be a lot of blade play as a result. More recently I've seen in the cheaper knives, thicker rubber, kind of o-ring things (not sure what they are called) on both sides of the blade. For better knives, usually there is really no space between the blade and the handle, they are almost completely flush.

Espada are the best knives around :)

Watch the video on the first link...

Here Cold Steel Espada for sale - Blade HQ

and

Here Espada (X-Large) - Cold Steel Knives

Kind of pricey... I did splurge on a Cold Steel Cane for halloween one year though, and can confirm phenomenal quality.

You have to keep in mind that these are $12 knives. Don't expect top quality Benchmark knives of $200. The Ganzo has 10% of the price and 90% of the quality. :)
All four knives don't have play. Maybe they are stiff out of box and some play are expected when worn in.
The knives are too heavy for EDC, they weight 147-155grams.

I like the third one down. It has thumb grip and the blade looks like it would be great for a throwing knife :p

I got bitten by the knife bug. :D
Another Ganzo folding knife arrives today. It is the Ganzo G711. I like the curve shape of the hilt. It feels very organic and match the flat of the hand very well.
It is a massive folding knife !
