I made my own at age 12!!! Some neet stuff. I made stars and repeater bombs using small tubes. Sparkelers were rocket fuel if you remove a bunch of the iron!

No. No o-ring sits there I never could figure out why they are there. I think it's just for aesthetics.

It has been broken off. It is made of a dense metal. It is also visible when the item was a whole.

Im off to bed too.

yours a diode/resistor on a heatsink?

The part with the groove, it's sputtering metel used in a vacuum chamber to put metel coatings on glass...
