They can be sonars, magnetometers, or 3D-scansonars ..... or, with those shapes, also sample collectors (like, for get samples of water and similars)

Not acoustic listen devices, but they work to do some kind of sample so that is an "almost" win.
Hint: if they are not used in water, they do the same job outside of water.(It's not easy)
