OK next one we had a two week break last time ..must be a used silica gel they usually are white ish

Yes, definitely used. I found it in the bottom of my parts box from a torn bag.

yeah, silica rope!

Cool how the same thing can just be shaped differently and used for different things. Uses silica gel crystals. They say you can bake saturated silica and bring it back to its original desiccating performance. Probably won't be trying that with the litter....

Anybody know if the rope is a desiccant too?

Not sure if it is also a dessicant (probably not). Is it the same stuff vapers use?

Silica gel is highly moisture-absorbent, and commonly used in various packaging applications. The stuff I had was pretty old, and so needed reactivating by baking in an improvised oven at about 100 deg.C for 24 hours. This turned it from milky pink to a deep blue colour.

A gear for letting light through the slots around edge for getting speed at so many rotations the speed must be x... digital counter cog
