Well, as for the pic, it look as a metalized plastic envelope with a seal on the top and a "ziplock" seal just under, containing something round ..... :p :D

Benm gave the closest answer, so i suppose he won ..... not a holder FOR a soldering iron, it's the holder OF a solderinf iron (the part that you hold in your hand when you use it :p) that i dsmantled for add a power selector (i do this with all my soldering irons, cause as they are they heat too much, so i turn all them from 30W to 15/30W ones :p)
