It may be a bit too obscure this one...only people directly involved with the construction/ service /repair of that device will know what that it...i dont think were gonna get it.

Ok, i said it was too difficult, so i post the solution.
It's a wire tension sensor from a knitting wire (thread ?) feeder, for a high speed automatic knitting machine.
It measure the tension of the knitting thread wire "on-the-fly", giving the feedback to the motor that feed the wire, so regardless the speed of the knitting and the type of the fabric, the tension is always the same (this for make all the knitting points identicals and not break the wire in the knitting process) ..... it use a piezoresistive film glued on the spring plate that hold the slider (that square that looks as a chip
), and the parts where the wire slide (in all the device, not just on the sensor), are made in ceramic, cause at that speed, also a common cotton wire can cut a slot deep a millimeter in hardened steel in a month or two.
By the way, do you want that i post something more difficult, the next time ? (just kidding, no need to shoot me )

Thats a pretty big starter motor for a car, are you sure you didn't rebuild a tank?

It's the rotor of an electric motor hooked to a high power mechanical siren blower (i mean, a very loud one, judging from the dimension of the fan and aircutting blades, compared with the other objects) ..... nautical fog siren ? ..... flood alarm siren ? ..... or, maybe, an old WW2 alarm siren, but for me the rotor looks a bit too new, for this .....

Yup, thats definitely the rotor from an electrical air siren.
I did have something I found the other week that will probably trick some people, but of course, Murphy's law, I can't find the damn thing! I'll post it when I do.

It's an inductance ..... more precisely, a filter 10uH, 10% tolerance, axial inductance
