FedEx Rant resolved

So I don't know where to begin so ill keep it short.
after a lucky break back in 2010 I wound up with a fully functional Novalux protera 488nm laser fully intact. well after years of fiddle with them and other broken ones I decide i want it to be fully functional.

The computer controlled driver had a firmware issue that prevented me from running it Unplugged from data.

So I sent it to the guy who originally programmed it (i tracked him down at the company)
He fixed it then sent it back

OK this part is a timeline for my record as well as yours


•Tuesday 24 Delivered but i never got it
------•called fed ex and placed package as missing
•Wednesday called for follow up Lady on phone "you package is not listed as missing"
------•PLACED PACHAGE AS MISSING AGAIN
•Wednesday The driver is looking for your package
•Wednesday afternoon i check with my neighbors to see if they had it with no luck

•Thursday thanksgiving
•Friday Called "your package is not listed as missing" (EFFING BLEEEEEEEEP)
•Saturday Finally get hold of a lady who cares and she calls the driver. (DRIVER DOES NOT KNOW PACKAGE WAS MISSING) He describes where he left it. Its one door down from me and they already told me they did not get it. So they lied to me.

• I confront the neighbor again and this time state that I have information that he says he does not have it again but The way he said it i feel as if he is lying then he said I would have to come back when someone else was home AFAIK no one else lives there.
•I called back fed ex and was told its at that house and to call the police and they said sorry for the inconvenance.
they basically wiped there hands and wont do anything any farther.

There is some other behind the scenes stuff that is making me positive that its at that house but I wont get into it here.

BUT GET THIS THERE'S MORE


On Monday the 23rd My 561nm laser had a failed delivery but I had no notice on my door I called and they said the package has a different address on it
Fortunaltly the guy is really cool and lets me sign for it and have it delivered there. Tuesday it is delivered to that house up the street.
On the box the Chinese label said 45 in my address But on top of that sticker was a US sticker that said 46 the address was changed mid shipment GRRRRRRRR

Also to those who know where I shipped the 488nm laser DO NOT post it here My only gripe with them is it did not have signature confirmation.
I have no regrets on their part at all.

Yikes, it's good to vent sometimes Zach no worries. I remember the call we had on Skype a few days ago where we talked about this!

Unfortunately, this happens A LOT with shippers, more with local ones though where packages get lost, damaged or completely delivered to the wrong address and that is the last you see of it. Surely there is something FedEx can do on their part? I mean, knowing the tracking number, it shouldn't be too hard to determine where the package was dropped at and signed for....ugh

IDK why it change but it was most likely at customs.

I mean they know where it is they just wont go and get it I mean I know its a lot of time and they would loose money on the package but its better than paying the insurance IMO.

Holy crud man, I'm sorry to hear about your loss. Remind your neighbors that it's a felony with up to 25 years in jail. Then contact the police. I know hindsight is 20/20 but for valuable items insurance and signature tracking is required. You also need to contact all 3 shipping providers and put in a request for local pickup only. That way they will NEVER drop it off at a neighbors house. If you are not home they will take it to the local USPS or UPS or FEDEX office. I had an issue after I couldn't find a package about 4 years ago. The FedEx delivery person literally went into my back yard and put a package inside my old 72 chevelle project car. It sat in there 2 days before I found it.

The way it is with these shipping companies, it turns out you must pay more for them to do their jobs right when you require a signature upon delivery. Wish I could be paid more at my job if I'm not performing well.

OK guys went next door again and this time got a different person at the door and I got my package back.

They gave me a lame excuse she said they opened the package thinking it was theres so they did not know where to deliver it. Even though the lable was mangled it was still readable grrr At least I got it I will post pics later.

You know they could get in trouble for that. It's against the law to open someones packages like that. I would have gave them a friendly warning. Something like "Thanks for giving it back but you know it's illegal to open a package that belongs to someone else. I wouldn't want to see you get in trouble for it." Give a nice smile lol
