Heres a collection of quotes i like:

"All your life you are told the things you cannot do. All your life they will say you're not good enough or strong enough or talented enough; they will say you're the wrong height or the wrong weight or the wrong type to play this or be this or achieve this. THEY WILL TELL YOU NO, a thousand times no, until all the no's become meaningless. All your life they will tell you no, quite firmly and very quickly.
AND YOU WILL TELL THEM YES."

"Just be yourself, be adventurous, be kind, if you can't change something then don't worry about it, when someone asks you for help just do it and expect nothing in return, tell the people that mean the most to you what you feel, but most importantly be happy. If something is meant to happen it will."

“Pain is temporary. It may last a minute, or an hour, or a day, or a year, but eventually it will subside and something else will take its place. If I quit, however, it lasts forever.”

"There is no point in worrying about something that can't be changed [the past, or previous choices] so you might as well prepare for the future"

"No single raindrop believes it is responsible for the flood"

It is our choices...that show what we truly are, far more than our abilities.

When you're up, it's never as good as it seems, and when you're down, it feels like you'll never be up again

If you don't stand for something, You'll fall for anything

“They may forget what you said, but they will never forget how you made them feel.”

“The best years of your life are the ones in which you decide your problems are your own. You do not blame them on your mother, the ecology, or the president. You realize that you control your own destiny.”

“Don't rely on someone else for your happiness and self worth. Only you can be responsible for that. If you can't love and respect yourself - no one else will be able to make that happen. Accept who you are - completely; the good and the bad - and make changes as YOU see fit - not because you think someone else wants you to be different.”

We talk like we know what's going on. But we don't. We don't know anything. We're young and we're gonna screw-up a lot. We're gona keep changing our minds and even sometimes our hearts. And through all that, the only thing we can truly offer eachother is... forgiveness.

“It is the highest form of self-respect to admit our errors and mistakes and make amends for them. To make a mistake is only an error in judgment, but to adhere to it when it is discovered shows infirmity of character.”

"I come in peace. I didn't bring artillery. But I'm pleading with you, with tears in my eyes: If you fuck with me, I'll kill you all."
- USMC MG James Mattis

"you taught me hate, ill teach you fear"

"Though I may walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for I am the meanest mother fucker in the valley." -General Patton

Do not go where the path may lead, go instead where there is no path and leave a trail. - Ralph Waldo Emerson

"It's not until you've lost everything, that you are free to do anything"

"God damn it, an entire generation pumping gas, waiting tables; slaves with white collars. Advertising has us chasing cars and clothes, working jobs we hate so we can buy shit we don't need. We're the middle children of history, man. No purpose or place. We have no Great War. No Great Depression. Our Great War's a spiritual war... our Great Depression is our lives. We've all been raised on television to believe that one day we'd all be millionaires, and movie gods, and rock stars. But we won't. And we're slowly learning that fact. And we're very, very pissed off."

I believe that everything happens for a reason. people change so that you can learn to let go. things go wrong so that you appreiciate them when they're right. and sometimes good things fall apart...so better things can fall together

"Cogito, ergo sums", Latin for "I think, therefore I AM"
I got it from the game I have no mouth and I must scream, although a French philosopher is the one who created it.

"The boy stood on the burning deck, whence all but he had fled"
"Small things amuse small minds"
"Don't cheer men, those poor devils are dieing"
"Better to idle well then to work badly"
"He who thinks but does not act breeds pestilence"

"The surest way to corrupt a youth is to instruct him to hold in higher esteem those who think alike than those who think differently" -Nietzsche

Edit:I keep thinking of these as I go...
"Remember, when you're up there, don't get shot. We have plenty of bullets here, we don't need you to bring any back with you, let the Germans take them some home!" -French Airman, WWII

Edit2: "We're going in order of sanity!" "Well, we can't ALL be last!"

My favorite antithesis: we don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing.

It's "cogito ergo sum", from Descartes ;)

One of my favorites philosophers, he built his whole philosophic system from this sentence. Bad that after finding the first truth (cogito ergo sum), the second truth was "and so something created me, and so God exists"...

@Prototype: nietzsche is for me the most interesting philosopher to study ever. Really, if one has never read about him, he should. One of the truly ones:

-Be careful when you fight the monsters, lest you become one.
Friedrich Nietzsche

If someone wanna read more from him:

Mistaking the complementary unified duality of nature as being right or wrong
good or evil
god or devil"

Ah, I can't believe I forgot the one that I post everywhere: "People today know the cost of everything and the value of nothing" Oscar Wilde

@ColdStl, that's a damn good quote, pardon the language.
