I don't think there has been a thread about this yet so what the heck, why not.

Alright guys what is your favorite movie, of all time. Any genre, any year, any style. Tell us what it is and why you like it. Simple enough.

I will start us off here with my favorite movie:

Gran Torino

In my opinion one of Clint Eastwood's best films. It was so practical and really shows how America should be (excluding the racism, which was hilarious). No school like the old school when it comes to Clint Eastwood in this one.

American Pie

In my opinion one of Paul Weitz's best films. It was so practical and really shows how America should be (excluding the sex, which was hilarious). No huge amount of semi naked chicks like the old huge amount of semi naked chicks when it comes to Paul Weitz in this one.

Alright, not sure I understand what your getting at there niko but thanks.

I like Armageddon that movie has it all. The Hunt for Red October was also a good one.

Who could forget The Wizard Of Oz, Gone with the Wind, The Abyss, All of The Lord Of the Rings movies were well done.

I also like Hard Times with Charles Bronson. The Great Escape was a good movie

The Shining was awesome. The 8 mile was good for Eminem so was The Green Mile

Who could forget Rambo... all the others after that sucked though.

The X-men movies were good as well as VAN HEILSING. All the Indiana Jones Movies
rocked the house. Field Of Dreams was a good one. The Natural was good also.

All the Predator movies were good. Aliens 1,2 were good the rest sucked... I also loved all the old Planet of the Apes. Stargate was a good movie. Narnia was a great movie.

All the Bruce Lee movies were good. I also like most all of the Godzilla movies especially the Final Wars flick. Cecile B De mil's Ten Commandments was a good movie.

The Passion was also.

I'll get back after a while.

Quint: Y'all know me. Know how I earn a livin'. I'll catch this bird for you, but it ain't gonna be easy. Bad fish. Not like going down the pond chasin' bluegills and tommycods. This shark, swallow you whole. Little shakin', little tenderizin', an' down you go. And we gotta do it quick, that'll bring back your tourists, put all your businesses on a payin' basis. But it's not gonna be pleasant. I value my neck a lot more than three thousand bucks, chief. I'll find him for three, but I'll catch him, and kill him, for ten. But you've gotta make up your minds. If you want to stay alive, then ante up. If you want to play it cheap, be on welfare the whole winter. I don't want no volunteers, I don't want no mates, there's just too many captains on this island. Ten thousand dollars for me by myself. For that you get the head, the tail, the whole damn thing. :yh:

The Land Before Time

The very first one, all the others where just OK

theres so many i could list.. The Goonies, The Never Ending Story (childhood fav's)

But I'm a Horror junkie so... Dawn of the Dead, Night of the Living Dead, Land of the Dead, Re-animator, Return of the Living Dead, Planet Terror, too many to list them all... if you haven't checked out all three Feast movies do it!!! they're ridiculous!!!

Maltese Falcon (1941)
(was tough though, really tough to choose just one.)

Well to begin explaining why it is my favourite is quite tough. Lets just say the reasons are the intelligent progression/script, film noir atmosphere and Humphrey Bogart's acting. It was made in a time when movies depended HEAVILY on acting and directing skills. The golden age of Hollywood.

The Departed and Gangs of New York. Both extremely well done movies with amazing scripts.

Star Wars and Lord of the Rings. Best trilogies IMHO.

And Princess Bride, absolutely loved that movie as a kid and nothing has changed. :D

Some of my favorite movies include Heat, Scarface, Saw I(the rest sucked it up), Saving Private Ryan, Rush Hour 1 and 2, Ace Ventura movies, and many others.

Donnie Darko has to be on my list, but I recommend you watch the original not the directors cut. The original has way better music and and it leaves you thinking more. DO NOT WATCH S.DARKO, boring.

Fight Club is still my all time favorite movie. Primal Fear is up there with Fight Club. Basically almost every movie that Edward Norton starred in is my favorite because he is an awesome actor, watch American History X and Primal fear and you will see what I mean.

Usual Suspects has to be up there because of the twist at the end.

If I were to keep on going this list would have like 50 movies so I will stop here.

Forest Gump, Cast Away, all the Pink Panther movies: Logan's run, Soylant Green.
all the King Kongs.

Steven Spielberg first movie Duel that was a movie. The hitchhiker... all of
ALFRED HICHKOCKS
