That reminds me of a couple of other thrillers that were great for their time: Rosemary's Baby and Wait Until Dark.

Didn't care much for the movie, but Michael Oldfield's Tubular bells is great.
Not long after the movie came out, I bought the Tubular bells cassette...Then on CD when it came out on CD. Oh the memories of the stuff we did as teenagers while listening to Tubular bells.

I haven't seen 2001, but I must make time too. The original Gone in 60 Seconds, an amazing movie, the remake was meh, Platoon's pretty good, Full Metal Jacket has to be my favorite war film. Cube was pretty good, the ending could've been better though.

Edit: Scratch that, Black Hawk Down is my favorite movie of all time, be it war or otherwise. I can't believe I forgot it. If you haven't read the book, I strongly suggest you do. Shawn of The Dead was hilarious.

For the time The Exorcist was one F'd up movie. The worst scene (for me anyway) was when Linda Blair was stabbing her bloody puss with a crucifix. The Omen was good too.

Just watched Cannibal Holocaust. One screwed up movie I tell ya. It's true that they really killed animals while making that movie?

edit: I have nothing against them doing that and am no member of PETA, just curious.

Yes, I believe 6 or 7 animals were killed during the filming of the movie.

Seven animals (a coatimundi, a turtle, a spider, a snake, two squirrel monkeys, and a pig) were actually killed, with six of them for the camera. The monkey scene had to be filmed twice, so even though only one is seen dying, two were killed.

Well I was just looking for it as an ipod torrent in mp4 format which I can't find on any torrent site, so I think I'm just going to have to download a DvDrip and change it to mpeg-4 format with a video converter I downloaded a couple weeks ago. Thanks for reminding me, I'll watch it on watch-movies-online.tv tommorow morning when I wake up.

By the way, the reason I want to see that movie is because I saw most of this documentary on Maryland Public Television (which usually plays crap so I was suprised):

Just saw Avatar in 3D last Sunday. Great flick if your looking to go see one. Although it did seem to follow the storyline of Dances with Wolves very closely.

-Maltese Falcon (already mentioned in a previous post)...film noir, narrated, old-school detective mystery, really worth watching.

-North by Northwest. (This is where the famous scene with the airplane and the guy running on the country road is from. One of my favourites from Hitchcock)

-Casablanca (ok cliche choice, but it is on this list for very good reason)

-Modern Times (Charlie Chaplin at his best)


(yeah I have thing for old-school movies. :whistle:)

I love tarintino films, all of them are so bloody, they seem obscurely funny at the same time though. My recent favorites of his are "Funny Games" and "Inglorious Basterds" I love those! Hahahaha!!!

Anything SciFi that has at least some realism to it.

The first time I see corny "defy all laws of physics" special effects, I lose interest.

Star Wars is about the only movie series that is full of impossibilities that holds my interest.

When I watched the movie "Supernova" I was just waiting to see HOW that damn movie could have a happy ending.

The film is about the earth and OUR sun going nova.

It starts out kinda like Armageddon, Scientists had discovered our sun is going nova, and the world is ending soon.

So I watch like a hawk, waiting to see what stupid ass scheme they were going to come up with to stop a star from burning out.

I won't spoil the ending, but they did not leave me wanting to play frisbee with the DVD when it ended.
