I love dogs, cats, pets, animals in general, and would not knowingly chose to eat dog meat unless it was a question of survival. Unfortunately I have tried dog in pilaf, not knowing at the time what the meat was.

That said I think it is hypocritical of us, by us I mean most human beings, how we draw what is mostly an arbitrary distinction between certain animals. Cows, pigs, sheep, chickens, they all have personalities, and are generally nice animals. Not much of a difference between a horse and a cow, except that one was a transportation method for a while.

What does really anger me about that article, is how the dogs were treated, that people were lied to, and possibly poisoned.

I don't draw that distinction myself. The way cattle, pigs and fowl are treated in this country is not only inhumane, but also dangerous to the food supply. And, we don't hunt stray or feral animals by poisoning, or bating and strangling or beating them to death. If it is done and the hunters are caught, the legal action can be quite severe.

A malfunction in a steel mill, where they are forming either pipe or solid round stock.
The video isn't very good, but it's still scary as hell to see how close one of those workers comes to getting hit with that flying hot iron!

If you don't want to wait, skip to the 30 second mark, and then look at the left of the video, the hot iron is moving left to right.

Some jobs just don't pay enough!

Man alive Bowtie, That was close! That is diffidently the meaning of "white hot". Bet that would have sliced him right in half. Somebody was looking out for that man. He's got a video to show his grand kids that's for sure.

That job is entirely too dangerous for something I would ever do. The problem, also, is the workers are covered by worker's comp, so if injured or worse have little recourse to recoup their losses in a monetary way.

Sounds a little like "Logan's Run" technology. I'm certain if given a chance, I would opt out for the chip under the skin. It's way too invasive, and just paves the way for the next bad idea.

The mark of the Beast!

There was some talk awhile back about chipping people for passports and in fact current passports, have the chips embedded within them.
I wonder just how easy or hard it would be to hack & spoof the chips?

Been chipping livestock and pets for quite some time now, at least in that regard it can be considered the mark of the beast.

I can't believe that a train would not derail while running on tracks like these, unbelievable!
Watch the poor engineer getting rocked back and forth while trying to make it past these roller coaster tracks.

Where was that, Jeff? At first I thought it must be some Eastern European country, but the signs at the crossings indicate it might be somewhere here. That's unbelievable.

Yikes... I'm impressed the train is able to actually use those tracks without derailing. That path will probably be there until some train does derail, otherwise not worth the hassle of fixing, or dismantling it.
