I'm certainly angry that our choices are frump and shillary, and I really don't like either or the system, but let's keep that in the other thread.

Regarding this situation, place yourself in the position of family member who's father, brother, sister or wife are being rushed to the hospital? Would you not be angry at the ambulance being blocked. People do die because ambulances are delayed.

Or place yourself in the position of that driver, yes in this case things were peaceful, but the ambulance was mobbed, with people yelling, and a few raising their hands. Especially give the recent events in niece, one would think that people would not be so stupid, and yes, stupidity makes me angry.

I know this was posted awhile ago but I find it completely justified that you run those morons over. Funny thing with all these people, when something happens they start to cause chaos toward people who had nothing to do with it. I don't think wiping away a few of these idiots out of here wouldn't be such a bad idea to ensure our species survives! :)

Lately when I have YouTube video set up to watch, it is only a black box and i can't reference the original video, so I'm left with nothing to see. Has this happened to anyone else?

I've noticed that it quit working on a couple websites for me. Youtube works fine along with embedded YT videos on at least one other website I visit. I use Chrome and it updates every time it is reopened. I just restarted my computer yesterday and YT videos still don't work on LPF.

Cal State LA offers segregated housing for black students - The College Fix

California State University Los Angeles recently rolled out segregated housing for black students.

http://www.nytimes.com/2016/09/07/us/campuses-cautiously-train-freshmen-against-subtle-insults.html

A freshman tentatively raises her hand and takes the microphone. “I’m really scared to ask this,” she begins. “When I, as a white female, listen to music that uses the N word, and I’m in the car, or, especially when I’m with all white friends, is it O.K. to sing along?”The answer, from Sheree Marlowe, the new chief diversity officer at Clark University, is an unequivocal “no.”
The exchange was included in Ms. Marlowe’s presentation to recently arriving first-year students focusing on subtle “microaggressions,” part of a new campus vocabulary that also includes “safe spaces” and “trigger warnings.”

Segregated housing, people afraid to speak due to fear. This seems like a giant step backwards.

"Microaggrssions" lol wtf. Ridiculous. I wasn't sure if this was serious at first it's so stupid. Thought it must be a news satire/parody article until I saw NY Times. :(

Among her other tips: Don’t ask an Asian student you don’t know for help on your math homework or randomly ask a black student if he plays basketball. Both questions make assumptions based on stereotypes. And don’t say “you guys.” It could be interpreted as leaving out women, said Ms. Marlowe, who realized it was offensive only when someone confronted her for saying it during a presentation.

I believe a lot of this is in response to Trump's candidacy and his use of language that really has offended many people here. After the election, I expect things will settle down again.

This stuff has been going on for a while, but is getting absurd now. It used to be confined mostly to the internet in the past, now it's leaking out into the real world, with institutions creating safe zones, offering trigger warnings, and taking absurd stances regarding personal comfort with regards existing beliefs. It is absurd for schools not to make people uncomfortable, and reconsider their beliefs.

'How To Be a White Ally' posters say all white people are racist

New students at Pomona College were welcomed to campus with posters in their dorms giving instructions on “How to be a (Better) White Ally” and stating that all white people are racist.

The signs state white people should “acknowledge your privilege” and “apologize if you’ve offended someone,” adding that offensive language includes words like “sassy” and “riot,” which are “racially coded.”

One could even make the argument that the internet spawned the SJW/third-wave feminist movement. With instant communication available to practically everyone, small sects are able to spread destructive and restrictive ideologies much more effectively than in the past, mostly by utilizing a "we will not be silenced" attitude, and making themselves appear to be a much larger group than they actually are.

Trump's campaign hasn't given rise to this, it has simply brought it to light. With constant bombardment from the now-prevalent alt-right, the media has begun to pick up on it, whereas before they mostly ignored them.

I think that most rational people can agree, regardless of political affiliation, that these people are crazy.

Also, it looks like we have a quarantine breach. Let's seal off the area and try to contain political discussion to the threads that facilitate it.
