I mean I get it, they have a good reason to protest, but treating others unfairly because you're treated unfairly will only create resentment, and hate, not sympathy and change. Would not blame driver for gunning it, and I doubt any prosecutor would want to charge driver. I mean crap, confronted with a bunch of violent thugs running up to your vehicle... one of the few times "I feared for my life" is applicable.

They are yelling and flailing their hands, as part of a mob. IDK if anyone actually made physical contact with the ambulance, if they did that would be it imo.

I watched the whole video twice. I didn't see anyone with raised arms and since there wasn't audio, I couldn't hear any yelling. It looked very much like a crowd that collected around an ambulance. Maybe you and i have different definitions of the word violence.

I do see a few people with raised arms, and the ambulance does get swarmed. It didn't end in a tragedy this time fortunately, but given that situation, if one of those idiots started banging on the windows, the reaction to step on the gas would not be unjustified.

That one had audio. Much better, but I saw mostly people with their phone cameras out taking video and hardly what i would call a mob scene. I say Trump, you say Shillary. Is the anger getting the better of you? I hope not as I have always felt you brought a sense of stability to the forum regardless of your political persuasion.

I'm certainly angry that our choices are frump and shillary, and I really don't like either or the system, but let's keep that in the other thread.

Regarding this situation, place yourself in the position of family member who's father, brother, sister or wife are being rushed to the hospital? Would you not be angry at the ambulance being blocked. People do die because ambulances are delayed.

Or place yourself in the position of that driver, yes in this case things were peaceful, but the ambulance was mobbed, with people yelling, and a few raising their hands. Especially give the recent events in niece, one would think that people would not be so stupid, and yes, stupidity makes me angry.

I have a hard time trying to make decisions from hypothetical situations, and like you said this wasn't one of "those times", but might have been. When black people do something violent, i will be able to give you my opinion about it, but since this wasn't one of those, I can't in good conscience tell you what should have been done by the ambulance driver or anyone else. If the ambulance was blocked, it doesn't seem like it lasted long at all. This was a very short video that was made to, by the claim of the video, show the inappropriate actions of BLM. Considering the actions of police in this country that have killed or wounded so many unarmed black men it is not out of the ordinary to see them protest. Even a Senator in the U.S. who is black and the physician who treated the police in Dallas said that they have been stopped by police for no other reason than they were black and they have feared for their lives. I don't condone violence, and from what I've seen BLM doesn't either. When it does happen we will have this conversation again. I am sure.

I saw that yesterday and was disgusted by it. It isn't the only example of cops guilty of shooting , or causing harm or death to unarmed blacks or those in custody getting off in the states where they have had "charges" brought against them. As if they were going through the motions, but leading to the same inevitable conclusions.

TL;DR: Minorities do get pulled over a lot more, but once an interaction does take place, the odds of injury at the hands of police officers is roughly equal for all.

The article, though informative, came as no surprise to me. People on this forum who know me personally, know I have long hair and have had since the 1960s. I studied music from an early age and became an accomplished guitarist and violinist back when having long hair, especially in the south, could get you arrested by itself. I have always tried to be polite and courteous to the police for the sake of my own survival. Sometimes it worked, other times, not so much. So, I've known for many years that being white doesn't mean you are going to get a fair shake from the police. However, because Blacks and Hispanics are far more likely to be pulled over for a trivial, if not completely made up excuse, they are far more likely to be the victims of violence from police.

Lately when I have YouTube video set up to watch, it is only a black box and i can't reference the original video, so I'm left with nothing to see. Has this happened to anyone else?
