Eww. :barf: Even apart from the grossness of that - how does he not become severely sick and/or die?
 
Depends. I mean if he has no open cuts, and is careful not to swallow at all, and plug his nose up, no reason why he can't be ok.

Even if he did swallow some, if he was smart and puked right after, should be basically ok... the stomach is very very good about killing off bacteria that doesn't belong there. A good shower or ten would take care of the surface contamination.

Biggest issue would be if he either had open cuts, or inhaled some of that crap into his lungs. Combined with exposure to sinuses, those are the three ways in which almost all infection takes place.

You can also get infected via your eyes, which is why of all things on your face you should not rub your eyes when your hands are not clean or you're in some public place.
