140kph! Are you sure you don't mean mph! :yh: seriously though I don't think I have ever seen a car that has such a small number on the clock? Personally I am pretty sure the lowest number on any of my car's (including the Mrs car) is 240?

Yeah I am absolutely positive we use real, actual measurement units here in my part of the world :p

:na:

I'm honestly sorry for that, you folks.

See, me on the other hand, have never been in a car that has "240" on it's clock.

My first two cars, Ford Taurus, and Ford Escort topped out at 85mph - a little under 140kph iirc. (Possible to push past the 85mph limit... trust me :shhh:)

Also many cars will have a speed limiter... so even if your speedometer goes up to 400mph, you will never go that fast.

Fact of the matter is, most cars are are not designed for prolonged high speeds... the tires are not speed rated, brakes are not up the challenge, stability goes to hell, aerodynamics are different and you can get blown off the road far easier by a gust of wind. Lots of good reasons not to go over 100mph... not to mention speeding tickets suck. Fair chance that if you get pulled over doing over 100, you'll lose your license on the spot.

Btw, Crown Vics top out at around 130mph.

I've left my phone on the roof of my car once. Drove 20 miles home, found it just where I'd left it. Don't know how it stayed. Maybe the moving air pushed it down onto the roof harder instead of blowing it off.

Also, note to self: if in need of illegally obtained car, illegally obtain from tonyt :eg:

Well that sucks... now he has to go get a new set of plates.

Here's a little Cop fail story. I had my car towed - not parked illegally or anything, left it in front of a friends place while I was away.

Apparently jackass neighbor complained to the cops. They had the car towed - for no apparent reason (fail #1). I didn't get any tickets or citations, and you can bet if they could have come up with one they would have.

After getting it out, spending money I didn't have, I found that one of my plates was missing. The two guys of course didn't know anything.

So I went, reported the plate lost/stolen. Mind you, I contacted the police department to find out if they had it first, and I needed a paper from them before I could get my car out. They also said they didn't know anything about it.

2 months later I get a call from a detective that my license plate is found in the police department evidence lock up.

Edit: I once drove to work with a duffel bag on the trunk of my car. I guess super luck it was heavy, and caught on one of the antennas. Would have majorly sucked to lose.

What sort of car only goes upto 180kph on the clock???

The... normal kind? Ones that don't cost 5 kidneys and 9 legs?

My car's clock goes to 140km/h. The car's as old as me, but it runs and takes me where I want it to. Family's car is Spark, not sure what the clock says but I think it's 180km/h, just like the one in the picture.

Cars over here average at around 240 on the dash. I remember when I was about 9 and I was offered a ride in a limited edition hand assembled subaru wrx sti. I took a look at the dash, saw 300kph printed on it and chickened out. LOL

@Cypragon, I don't see what's wrong with that pic, He's driving slower than zero which effectively means he's travelling back in time. Therefore his petrol tank has overflowed. He also must be running liquid nitrogen in his radiator.
