Well, here are several links I personally used to find the songs I was searching for:

Midomi : Just sing the melody you´re searching for aloud after having clicked the "sing or hum" button and there you go. (Of course, a microphone is essential for this)

Excerpts of almost all famous classical tracks:

Part 1
Part 2
Part 3
Part 4
part 5
Part 6
Part 7
Part 8

Enjoy!  :)

Re: Ever asked yourself: "What´s that catchy tune?

my phone has it and doesn't make a big deal out of it, like it was invented 10 years ago. not that i'd want to know the name of the shitty songs they keep playing over and over on the radio (for the sole purpose of forced marketing, i believe)
radio stations are simply paid to play what the riaa earns money off of at the time.

You know, I thought of this idea many many years ago and it's really cool to see it actually working somewhere! I'm going to use this site :D
