As far as it being complete, I know that I am done with it! ;D

I'm not sure there will be a better switch than the 'push on - push off' clicky that I have already put into 3 of these. But we can still try when I get some of those ones from E-Switch.

Looking back, even though the time and effort to fit the larger 12mm X 12mm clicky with the 3 ohm resistor was a pain, it is a very solid build. And now with my glass lens and aluminum reflector mod, it is REALLY nice! (for it's size) Drawing about 332mA with a fresh charged 10280! And will last as well! 8-) (those E-Switches are only rated for 100mA's, but they will surely take more)

P.S. I put the reflector mod on my 1st one now too. The one that is using the stock circuit and drawing about 120mA's. With the reflector, it is much brighter. Maybe even a better way to go because it will have about a 2 hr. run time per charge with the 10280!

That would easily fit in there Ken!

I guess the hope of finding a latching switch that would be small enough to use the stock board that slides into the center of the host is probably not possible. That would have been an easy mod with a switch that small...

For sure that switch you show can work. With plenty of room on one side to put a resistor. The problem will become to mount it solid inside the host.

The large switch that I have used had to be sanded and shaved in order to be able to fit! So it is a solid mount inside the host. I don't know if the build is going to be harder or easier with smaller latching switches! :-/ *But we shall soon find out...

P.S. Maybe I can utilize the stock board by cutting a slot in the center for the switch to fit into, then it would be able to stabilize the switch where we need it to be!

here is another picture. *I've modified the switch just a teenie bit and put the cap on top.

I donno bout the original pcb but I've no doubt we could make one work. The board this one came off of is incredibly thin and had a resistor mounted right next to it.

I'm thinking that we could cut a square fit for that switch, out of the center of the stock board...

Right where we need it to be positioned. Remove the stock components and fit that switch with a 3 ohm resistor!

Another cool mod for this great Key Chain host!

This time it is using a huge, super bright 'Blue' LED with a very narrow beam (10 degree), and a 10280 battery...

The wall in the beam shot is 30' away! This sucker is so bright that it just about has a beam at night! If the beam was any narrower, it would be a 473nm laser!

It's bright for a violet light, little brighter than a PHR on a 18650 cell. I believe it can be much brighter two cr123a cells tho.

Sweet glad they do have a bare emitter. Those lights are certainly bright. I would compare it to the Dorcy Jr in brightness. but of course since it's UV you don't get to see the true power of it. I walk into my childrens room with all thier flourescent toys and it blows my mind!

Hey I finally slapped one of these UV emitters into a (new style) 4171 host and it is awesome! 8-)

It was so simple to just exchage the bare emitters! I used a little thermal adhesive and then just soldered the tabs....

I checked voltage to the emitter using 2 X 3.0 volt Lithium primaries, and it was 3.6 volts at the emitter. Very bright, and makes things glow just like a blu-ray laser!

It was a good idea to drill out the tailcap to get a longer battery in, eh, Jay?

I came up with it when a machinist Teenie buyer showed me the host for the first time, and i asked if it's possible to do, and he did it perfectly on his lathe!

Your idea to undress the battery from below allowed the 10280 in in the end!

My laser in this micro-badboy now does 240mW with the medium custom lens!!

I need two more Jay, machined for an AixiZ press fit! The first was a Sure press-fit, not that i mind, but then i can't get your lens in...

I love it! It's mass is amazing, and it can keep a diode from overheating for up to 10 minutes!

My host has a slightly more massive head, but the body is thinner. And shorter...

The result is a thermal blockade, i'll explain with some drawings...

With yours, the heat just flows down from the head into the body, and i love this about it, must make a GREAT CREE Flashight as well, especially with your little heatsink!
