Ugh, the comments on that make me mad.
Even if that whole crazy theory could happen, IT WOULDN'T HAPPEN TODAY. They are not colliding particles any time this month, they just turning on 1 beam. Only 1 beam, and only 7% power at that. That scenario has been done thousands of times, and the world hasn't ended yet. Collisions are planned to start NEXT MONTH, and even then, it won't happen anyway/

the way I see it is that if a black hole is created it will has so little of mass it can cause no damage. maybe suck up some atoms? air particles? the smallest of small things? There is no way it can suddenly gain more mass than the earth in just a second.

I'm no physicist and obviously neither are any of the person's commenting on YouTube... but, at least I can see how absurd this seems. That theory is pretty out there. Sounds like a bad movie. A really bad movie. Directed by Joel Schumacher.

Ever since the dawn of science, the un-educated have been scared of it. The thought of something they don't understand freaks them out.
If scientists have to bow to these idiots and stop the experiments, we take a HUGE step backwards. I mean, who knows better about that subject; some crackpot with a foil hat or a Research Scientist? Who are you going to believe when they assess the risks of the experiment? HHHMMMmmm....
