Emergency landing near me.

A plane made an emergency landing on US-23 about mile from my house.
Glad I wasen't outside playing with my lasers.
At least no one was injured and even the plane survived:)
Cudos to the pilot!!

Yeah, I know. I've been trying to figure out the make of the plane. Old Citabria or Bellanca??

I looked up the registry and it says it's a 1936 Stinson SR-8D. Damn cool looking plane. Glad it wasen't damaged.

Yep. Pretty good guess there Adam:) You know your planes way better than I do:)
BTW...
The registry is NC-16164

I was way off base with the Citabria or Bellanca guess.

I love the look of these old planes. I especially like the steering wheel look of the controls, instead of a stick.

FYI,

The plane was a Stinson. More interesting is this plane number 16164 was used as a transitional training aircraft up
to the P-51 Mustang by the Tuskegee Airman. USA's first all black flying squadron during WW2.
