tales of the battery that couldn't be fixed...

I dropped my p7 flashlight with 2 18650 batteries in it. One protected and one unprotected one. The protected one (ultrafire) was at the bottom of the flashlight so it took more of an impact when it hit the ground. The light no longer worked, and I thought I broke it, but I found out it was just my battery.

Now when I charge it the light always stays red, and it's stuck at 3.62V, and as soon as it reaches 3.6V that is the cut off voltage, it stops working.

So there's no way to fix my battery is there?

i think it's just funny that the protected one died and the unprotected one still works and didn't blow up:D

I don't know anything about batteries, but maybe the protection circuit is damaged.

Obviously you shorted the battery. You don't just rip the thing off, you have to take great CARE. Probably the metall ribbon from the positive to the negative side made contact.

do not mix lithium battery types ever especially protected and unprotected

here read number #7

The two batteries are lithium, one is just unprotected. I didn't see anything on that website mentioning protected or unprotected batteries =/

yes, it was the ribbon, it happened right after i ripped off the sticky plastic stuff, that must have been keeping the two from not touching and I didn't realize it.

That happend once to me I just dropped it again and it fixed:D
haha yeah I tried banging it against the wall and against my kneecap to see if that'd fix it, but it didn't.

The protection circuit looked perfectly fine, I didn't see anything wrong with it.
