Since these are probably going to become part of our every day life around the world I thought I would share what I just found out about them.

I have an actual drone and I have thought of using my camera shutter part of it to fire a laser at pre determined locations all by itself. I just don't have access.to enough land for such Tom foolery atm but soon!

Looks like a lot of fun, especially the guy who has the the one with video feedback to his glasses. That's about as close to flying as you can get.

On the other hand, when your local police get their fleet of drones......watch out! :eek:

I've flown FPV before, and while it is fun it doesn't really feel close to flying. The video quality is bad, and most goggles only project the image as a floating screen in front of you, so you don't get very immersed.

I have a 5 inch screen on my radio for fpv. Neat but like Grim said you don't get the full experience. If you do glasses and a head tracking set up its much better. When you look left the camera on the vehicle looksleft etc. Leta you to look around while flying.

Cool video, if we only knew what the military was up to and want kind of Drone technology
and capabilities they are running now, I think we would be afraid indeed.

If you live your life under the assumption that unless you do it in an interior room with no windows and sound proof walls you have no privacy then you don't get bothered by surveillance drones at all.

Years ago when I lived in NJ I had the cops called on me because I had a laser show going in my room and neighbors could see it through the windows. This was after they threatened to call the cops on me for having it in my back yard projected on my shed. Since then the idea of privacy has been a fallacy in my mind. If someone wants to know what you're up to it is very easy for them to find out.

Also confusing as hell. I don't have a head tracker yet but just the goggles alone is a crazy experience.

As a pilot myself, "seat of the pants" feedback
is important. That's why I have trouble flying
these toys.

Impressive little machines. I prefer the quads. Would be nice to see a mobile liquid sky done on a foggy evening, with a large quad.

Yes seat of the pants makes things much much easier to fly. But u less you weigh a couple of ounces we can't ride these. Mab could you imagine being able to hop on rc vehicles and taking them for a ride?!?! Man I wouldn't need any other hobbies lol

For those that want to see a good example of how far hobby drones have come, check out Things Youtube channel - he has an impressive collection of the things. (no pun intended!). I personally want one myself for aerial photography, and wouldn't blink an eye at equipping it with these... :)

Those bungers will explode a steel letterbox, quite easily - no idea where I got them from, but they are damn powerful buggers!

Seriously though, I am going to get myself a hexcopter and chuck a DSLR underneath it when I get quite competant flying it - My experience flying copters (collective pitch) should help a lot :)

Check out the Quadcopter Build Thread that several of us are active in, lots if great info there!!

I'm just starting in the hobby and loving it. I too am coming from a RC heli background (though a few years removed).
