You will also need to "Burn-in" the engine which means ride it for some times before its operating the most it can. the most it will do is 50mph out of the box.
Also your weight also is a big factor. on those sites that sell pocket bikes, and they have the videos showing it going 70mph, they modified the bike for the video.

Not sure how much the already upgraded ones are, but there's a place near me that will give you 50% off all parts when you purchase the bike ;D (but you have to buy them at the same time as you buy the bike)

I try to avoid going to the doctor at all costs. In example, I screwed up my shoulder pretty badly in wrestling practice last week and it isn't getting better. I probably should go, but I won't unless it gets a lot worse. Now if I go and he gives me some pills or something I'll take those, but if he wants me to do something like physical therapy then I won't do it, physical therapy doesn't do anything.

Absurd, sir, absurd. Also if it isn't getting better, it's not good lol.

Default Re: Doctor & Hospital Visits

As a future physician, I encourage all of you to see your doctor! *(that's how we make money *:P)

But seriously, going to see a doctor is advisable for anything "out of the ordinary". *The usual cold or flu doesn't really need any medical attention unless its in someone really young or old or if you have any "unusual" symptoms like rash or other color change of skin/eyes, bad headache, stiff or painful neck/joints, excessive or bloody excretions (urine/poo), double vision, light sensitivity, etc, especially if they last more than a day or two or if they get progressively worse or unbearable.

@styropyro: *if you dislocated something, tore a tendon, or something more serious than a sprain, you could possibly end up with chronic symptoms in the joint or possibly weakness or increased likelihood of injury in the future. *Seeing your family physician would be a good idea so they can determine if its simply a "pulled muscle" or sprain or something more serious. *And physical rehabilitation can be very useful if you follow through with it.

Default Re: Doctor & Hospital Visits

Physical therapy has saved my arm. When I was 9 yrs old, I fell 2 stories from a tree because I overestimated the strength of a branch, and I went down head first onto the concrete. Instantly, I covered my head with my arms, so when I landed my left elbow was crushed between the concrete, and about 70 lbs (don't remember my weight then) and completely shattered my elbow. The doctors first thought they would have to amputate it, but they said they might be successful with surgery, and so they did it. When all was said and done, I had to go through hours a day physical therapy to bring my arm back to life. Everyday, push it a millimeter further. The doctors first said that it would only have about a 40 bend if I was lucky for the rest of my life. Good bless my Mother who loved to see me suffer, forced me every day 4 times a day until it went much further, and about 6 months later my arm was 100% back to normal.

Wes, no problem with the thread jack, motorcycles are very cool. 8-)

I only go if it's a serious infection, or a cut that needs stitching otherwise I don't bother.

Default Re: Doctor & Hospital Visits

Alright guys, you've proven me wrong, physical therapy does work but I don't think it is very useful on minor injuries. :

I don't like to go to the doctor in general because it seems they always seem to try to make you seem stupid or they just don't care. In example I got in a pretty bad car wreck last summer with my sister and when we went to get checked out they automatically assumed we were there to try to find something to sue over. My sister is a waitress and she has to hold trays with one hand (company policy...) and she hurt her wrist in the wreck. The doctor wouldn't write her a note for just one day off of work because he said it wouldn't hurt then. He was wrong and my dad had to talk to the manager because the doctor wouldn't give her a day off.

Also, about my shoulder, I went last year when it was hurt and they said it was tendinitis. It probably is the same thing again and if I go they'll tell me to do the same thing again. Also with my luck I'm allergic to ibuprofen so I can't use that to fix the tendinitis.

I just got back from my first hospital visit in twelve years... I sliced my pinkie finger open on a computer case and after two hours of putting compression on it and keeping it elevated it still wouldn't stop bleeding, so I went to the hospital and had six stitches put in.

I got off work an hour early because of it, but then ended up spending two hours in emergency :-/
