So, as you know, we like to rip apart projectors for fun little burny diodes.

However!

I am looking for one for its PROPER use! I was mesmerized by one of those 15 lumen SHOWWX projectors at SELEM, and was looking for a better option than my tiny 22" TV!

I have about 7'x10' of free space on my wall, that I will keep poster-free if there's a good solution for displaying on it.

Just looking for something that has the brightness, and quality, of a decent TV. Don't need one of those 15,000 lumen projectors. 2000 should do... I think. I know nothing about this.

So, if anyone's got any advice, feel free to post it!

Looking to watch HD movies once my 2tb external HDD comes in, and I would like to be able to hook up my 360 for some post-shift killing time.

Get something you can use XBMC with for streaming to it.

You don't need lots of lumens, but you do need major control of the lighting for it to look correct. Do you have a way to darken the room?

WIthout light control, Forget it!

Projecting on a wall is fine, but remember most projectors do not have audio built in. If it does, it's very limited.

For resources check out AVS forum. They can help you much better than most on here

Its kind of like lasers in that whatever you start with, you'll want to upgrade later - thats the bad part.

My main lighting is mood lighting basically. Can't think of the proper term, but it's a slider switch that determines brightness.

I'll check it out. Not looking to break the bank. As long as it's bright enough to enjoy the dark scenes in movies/games, I'm good.
