what happened with dealextreme...i was looking at green laser pointers on deal extreme and there was everything and i looked now and there was only <5 mw lasers including the red and the blue ones

Same thing as with dinodirect and focal price.
They received an ultimatum from paypal... either they drop all lasers over 5mW or paypal drops them.
For the moment seems to only affect the larger companies... DD just shifted their inventory to subsidiaries and raised prices.
EDIT: I guess the scapegoat statement that DX and DD would not ship to countries with import bans on lasers over 5mW was no longer enough to placate...

So does anyone have some other semi-reliable links for these products ?
I'm looking for something in a cheap 405nm module that is a comparable brightness to the <5mw 532nm. (You see I'm planning on setting up a few small remote stationary "heads" for simple beam effects in a smoky room. A few green, purple, & red units in the smallest mounts possible all wired into a single control board/circuit for activation. Then with a few properly positioned bounce mirrors...you get the idea.)
So the 5mw limit on the 405nm isn't going to work out now is it ? I think I need to go substantially greater.
Then match to some reds that also will need to be greater than 5mw.
I just don't have the time here at work to look for them AND I don't want to leave a lot of internet activity tracks on the work systems.

Doubtful. They will just switch to a different merchant service. As long as customers have a credit card to pay with... not going to be an issue.
Just order a phr... modwerx, cajunlasers, etc... besides, the modules/diodes are still being sold, only the complete handheld lasers were pulled.
