Yeah they've been throwing around that its a disease for a while. I think its just some people have an addictive personality. I'm not trying to pick on you, but if you had a disease you wouldn't be able to drink either. How can a mental disease target pills only? Doesn't make sense to me.

Edit:
That happend to me but only the first couple of times. Then i stopped getting paranoia and anxiety.

I under stated my few times. Believe me, I gave it my all, I just dont like it.

Like I said I'm not gonna get into it too much, but google it, there are tons of tests, that when they hook somebody's brain up to a machine, and introduce their drug of choice(minute amounts) into their system, they watch their brain activity light up and go berserk. Shown another drug, no response. They can even do this with individuals who have never done any drugs, and find out which ones they are more susceptible to and more likely to become addicted to if they go down that path.

Thats normal life bro. Naturally your brain likes what it likes. I'm sure my brain goes off (among other things) when a pretty girl sits in my lap. But that doesn't mean I have a disease, LMAO. It just means I love, and need pusswha.

I've read more than you think trying to understand my own weaknesses, but I still dont think they can qualify addiction a disease.

I understand your stance. But they do qualify it as a disease. All medical associations do.

I'm not trying to defend myself, I did what I did, and I am a 1,000,000 times better person from it. So I thank what it has done for me.

The point is, if you don't start, you don't have to quit. I have many weaknesses, and often as with most everybody, they stem/root from underlying causes from way before I knew what a oxycontin was.

EDIT: Liking the new avatar too TJ

So you've found an insurance company that will pay for treatment, and time out of work? I know Medicare, Medicaid, Disability, and SSI wont pay you a penny.

Medicaid and medicare pay for allllll of it in ohio, not kentucky. At least that's what they say where I go, I wouldn't know first hand, I don't have either, but they speak highly of the medis' down there in Ohio at least..

I am on my fathers navy insurance, can't remember what it is. Pay for everything

Never had to miss work though. And there's nothing to treatment. All I do is attend group therapy sessions twice a weak, and a 1 on 1 once a month

So they treat your "disease" verbally? LOL

Hey dont take me wrong. None is this is directly pointed at you. I'm playing devils advocate for most of it, but I still dont believe addiction is a disease. Like you said, you know whats wrong, and right. Just dont start to begin with. But you know how that goes. So I guess they have to classify stupidity as a disease too, LOL.

Honestly the "herb" isn't really a problem as long as you have some self control. If you're high all day every day and do nothing but sit in your mom's basement playing video games n eating you might have a problem. Same applies to alcoholics who drink themselves stupid every day. Some people just have addictive personalities and can't use drugs/alcohol responsibly. I've known lots of successful people who smoke herb and a few stereotypical do-nothing stoners.

Personally I think it should be legal anyway. It's really no worse than alcohol/cigs when you think about it. It was made illegal to begin with by a propaganda campaign started by people who were scared of industrial hemp and stays illegal largely due to lingering paranoia and corruption/corporate interests.

There was a little more to it than that in the first months of recovery than just therapy, but that's over with for me, they paid for it too

Fairly sure most of the people I see down there are cursed with stupidity disease themselves too.. Amongst many other diseases

Its been decriminalized in 14 states in the US, and is legal in parts of California, and Oregon.

Not sure what country you're from.

Decrim=/=legal. Prop 19 in California would have made it "legal", but even that would've only been at the state level. It's nearly legal in some states considering how easily anyone can get a mmj prescription for every ailment in the book. However even with mmj the feds can still bust you any time they feel like it.

True, but I doubt there is an issue at the user level. Feds arent going to kick down your door because you're smoking a joint.

Why dont you just use a bong instead of a pipe? It might be more expensive, but its worth it. :)
Oh, believe me I would. But I cant hide a bong. By the way i know what you mean about bongs though, they are just amazing.

Edit: And by the way TJ you double posted

Yeah, but it's almost as useless as telling them not to have sex.
They are going to do it anyway.

Maybe ..... but, as far as i know, sex is less unhealty than smoke (well, ok, unwanted pregnancy, STD, and heart attacks "in the middle" excluded ..... but, at least for the first 2 cases, the solution is relatively easy and don't take away too much fun from the act :p :D)

Also, just telling them to not have sex, is not working (you know, say to someone "don't touch that button", and the most part of the peoples place a finger on it and ask you "what one, this ?" *click* :p :D) ..... maybe is better start to educate them about how to do it safely ;)
