I did that as a kid. Luckily I didn't get burned and it happened outside... smoked out the whole neighborhood!

Now I use KNO3 to make rocket propellant for my rockets (another hobby of mine). My max altitude on homemade propellant is 9,068 ft! Hopefully I'll get past the 10,000ft mark next summer. My new design should get something like 11,000 to 12,000ft if all goes well.

Sorry , Known that formula since like 1983.........

I simply meant we don't need any of the teenagers who frequent this forum to get tempted and start brewing up one of the most dangerous chemical reactions known.

There is a reason why dynamite/TNT and nitro are obsolete. They are too damn unstable, especially when there are fare safer and more potent modern alternatives.

These kids need to grow up with all ten fingers, both hands and their lives.

I didn't want a recipe. I just meant you can't go onto a "craziest thing youv'e ever done" thread and just give a one or two word answer. "Here's the craziest thing I've ever done: bomb. Need I say more???" See it just doesn't work.

You're right... I should have posted something I wouldn't mind going into details about. I'm not going to go into details on highly illegal activities...

I know HOW to make just about everything you guys are talking about. And I have the (legal) separate materials to make them. Would I make them? NO! I just like knowing how...things like that interest me.

Burned myself once with some magnesium, sugar, and KNO3. Second degree burn. I didn't even feel it...that was the scariest part. All's fine now though. I CERTAINLY learned my lesson.

I never give any where/how/what info out to anyone... If you can't find out that information on your own I certainly don't want you playing with any of this stuff ;)

Yeah I mean if I was the world's strongest man and I got in a car accident and all of my limbs had to be amputated and I became brain dead, would you really say that because I didn't die I became stonger???

I've noticed several mentions of the love of the adrenaline rush, and I can relate. I might not have done much crazy stuff, but working with power tools gives plenty of chances for injury. It's great, you have this "HOLY SH*T" moment right before you realize you're fine, and your heart's beating a mile a minute. My best one was when I had a bandsaw blade break on me. I jumped a foot in the air and just about crapped myself. I don't care who you are, that'll scare the HELL out of you. It took me a second to turn the thing off, but I wasn't scared, I felt like, "Haha, I'm alive, and that was freakin' awesome!"

@T_J: Man, you've got some wild stories. Good to see you've gone from crazy to...uh, something :na:

LOL I've got epic tales. My whole family is cursed with epic tales. We are all extremist, so its either full throttle or nothing.
