People are finding out a lot of shit regarding the things we use every day and how they can be harmful to us. It's pretty scary when you think about it. Just like how aluminum can be linked to Alzheimer's.

Yes, if you swallow it. You may think I'm nuts, but I read people are putting their phones into all sorts of places. ;)

Not sure how tungsten would end up in your body, unless you like eating the internals of the cell phone... or your wedding ring is made out of it. :shhh:

In a way I almost wish I was born 1000 years ago. Goodness knows all the diseases and disorders our synthetic materials and communications technology cause that haven't been found out yet. On top of the atmospheric and ground contamination.

Back 1000 years ago you could go outside and exercise any day without worrying about smog, play in the mud and swim in the rivers without needing to worry about what toxic fertilizer/pesticide runoff is in them and since most furniture was either stone or wood you wouldn't need to be concerned about vapors from plastics and whatnot. :D

Problem is though, a simple fever was fatal a lot of the time. The more way we find to kill ourselves, the more modern medicine has found a way to keep us alive (even if it's a miserable existence)

The question is, how does tungsten enter the system? Anything is lethal if it enters the body in a sufficient quantity. There have been a few cases of people dying just from drinking too much water for example.

Now if the exposure required is just skin contact, that could be a problem.

You know what worries me about this... My first wedding ring was tungsten

I went through a brief period of wearing tungsten rings. Have about 20 of them.

Unbreakable my @$$. I had quite a few crack.

Scratch proof? Yes. Unbreakable? Not even close.

I own, and occasionally wear tungsten watches. My wrist is still fine :p

I'm now divorced. ....Might want to have your wrist checked out by a doc, that tungsten must be toxic ;)

I like the weight of tungsten rings. But I agree with them being brittle. I cracked my first one somehow.

Ha, occasionally. I wear safety goggles when I grind down the tips if I crap one up or switching over to aluminum. Maybe I should wear a mask as well?
