I would rather lose my money 10 times to guys who could have been scared off by a knife than lose my life to the one guy who wasn't scared.
Whether anyone agrees with carrying weapons or not I must say that line rings as well said to me.

Apart from having my chest sliced slightly open which did suck a bit, I have never really been badly injured being mugged though.
Ohhh, even if its "slightly", getting sliced is not fun.

A couple of times I have been able to run or disable the attacker, but mostly it just ends up being a "shit I lost my phone and wallet" night.. which is why I always carry two wallets and two phones. One pair with almost no money and no working cards to give to the thief
I like the fake wallet & phone. May I ask how many times you have been mugged tho? o.o

@ Razako - It really does suck, one of my friend got a fine equivalent to about $600 for having a small folding knife in his backpack. He had been to work where he uses the knife to cut up boxes, then he went to buy some clothes and on his way back to the car had to go through a quick routine search. Apparently, needing the knife for your job AND carrying it in your backpack is not enough unless you are travelling directly to or from work. If you make a quick stop to get gas, buy groceries or anything similar, the cops can bust you for it. I am sick of these completely over the top psycho laws.

@ HaloBlu - Luckily all that remains after that incident is a very small scar on my chest, barely noticeable unless you know it's there. My skin heals amazingly well.
9 times I believe.. I have only lost my "real stuff" twice though. 9 is not counting the times I ran/disabled the attacker/talked my way out of it. I really need to get a taser (or just stop walking around in dark alleys at 6am).

/end of off topic, sorry

Here in Britain there's a 4 year sentence for being caught carrying a knife, i don't know the details. A man got killed with a gun basically on my girlfriend's doorstep, and I've been very close to several muggings. I once had my torch-lighter taken because I lent it to some guy to light his ciggarettes, which was admittedly my own stupid fault.

A fun story of me being approached by a mugger a few years ago:
Him: Lend me a pound (our currency), mate!
Me: I don't have any money (I did have money, but by pure chance it was in my pocket and not in my wallet so I assumed I was safe)
Him: If I find money on you, you know I'm going to hurt you?
Me: ...Yeah...
Him: Shake your blazer! (I was in my school uniform - a nervous looking private school kid, probably didn't help)
Me: *shaking*
Him: Oh... What phone you got?
Me: It's kind of old... *hands him my phone at the time, a Nokia 631 Oi, about 15cm long and possessing games like Snake 2 and Space Impact*
Him: *Pausing to look at it, smiling* That's a good phone, mate! *giving it back*

Having an obselete phone saved me from having it taken.
The punchline is... my MP3 player and flashdrive (also cheap, but worth having) were in my pocket and my laptop was in my bag. The charger for my laptop was in my pocket, so it's just chance he didn't see it.

The black one is a Boy Scout knife, and the two blue ones are Cub Scout knives...

The lower right corner of that same picture shows a near mint Boker 182...

Older Benchmade is awesome quality...

Have you ever heard of BenchMark? I have a couple of those too. (not shown)

Have I heard of benchmark? You mean you got more knives??:)

Benchmade still makes pretty good knives. They went a little down hill when they started making different classes of knives. I was pissed when they came out with their red class:(

I like your spyderco double action OTF.

I may be getting this OTF in a few weeks:)

Oh yeah I have 20 or 30 that aren't shown in those pictures...

I do have a Spyderco in the center of those Benchmade's...

All my Benchmade's are before they went to plastic scales.

My every day carry around knife is a Benchmade Mini AFCK. But it is a custom build with carbon fiber scales and a stainless steel clip.

SCHWEET!
