Certainly looks good, you must have put a lot of effort into app development. Reminds me somewhat of a Sonic game I enjoyed on the GBA ages ago. I've been thinking about app development myself and cloning the sonic game, but until I can put together a mac/(hack)intosh there's not much I can do towards that. Gpsphone just isn't easy enough to control, and occasionally lags, so a native app would be a real achievement for me.

From a PR standpoint, have you considered handing out a limited number of free copies to reviewers, to get the word out and generate a bit of a buzz (make sure they link back though!)?

Yeah the hardest part was trying to scrap together enough cash to buy a mac hahaha. Had to sell my old laptop and work for a few months and convince my grandparents for an early christmas/graduation present.

And we probably will do that. My friend is the main developer (my "company" is mainly just me and him haha) so he has all the promo codes and such. We've been spreading the word about the app but yeah we still do need to get the word out more. If you want to help and get your friends/acquaintances to download it you're more than welcome :p

Looks like a very nice game indeed! I would really recommend giving it to a bunch of people to review it and spread the word. This way you lose maybe $10 because 10 people did not buy it, but it may generate hundreds of new customers. I think many people are reluctant to spend even $1 on something they have never heard of, but the moment it has been reviewed a couple of times, people think "cool only $1, I want to try that".

Good luck!

I've recently upgraded, so if I can get the remainder of parts I need for cheap, I'll probably end up building myself a "hackintosh" and working on that. Feel free to post a link when the app is approved, and I'll be sure to pass it along. Facebook's another nice way of getting the news out there, especially if you have a largeish group of friends. I'd also be happy to do a review for you (iPhone 2G jailbroken), I still have a couple of dollars in my iTunes account that would be wasted otherwise :)

That's awesome. Do you know Objective-C or any Cocos stuff yet or are you going to have to learn that afterwards?

And the App is approved: iTunes Store and yeah we have the Facebook and a few website forums that specialize in iPod Touch/iPhone Apps...

And @Jaseth that is our reasoning too we have 1 or 2 actual reviewers reviewing it right now but we really want to give it out to a few more who have websites and such.

I already know Java, PHP and VB.net reasonably well, and I've been messing around with game engines and design concepts for a bit. Other than that, I've also done the basics in C++/C# (rediscovered my copy of this only yesterday - my Java experience made it so much easier coming back to it!), but not to the level where I could write a complete iPhone app/full-featured game engine. I'm aiming to learn properly over the next few weeks and months, it would help me so much being able to use C-based languages properly.

Just started playing your game now - gameplay is simple but addictive - but it's late over here so I'll post my thoughts or a mini-review when I have some time to do it properly. So far I've only got a score of 270...

Yeah I really only knew Java really well. Basically knowing style really helped a lot. If you know any C-based languages then Objective-C won't be too bad at all.

And awesome that's actually exactly what we were going for: simple yet addictive! A review would be awesome from you but we'd also like suggestions to improve it. So far we basically figure that we need to add sound... If you or anyone reading this has any other suggestions let me know!

Ah my bad I must just not know what with a grain of salt means.

All I know is I said "I'll wait" and it took all of four (4) minutes for you to answer.
What's that old saying?
"Those that are the most guilty............."

You are a posting machine for being here two days, and most of those posts are for your profit.
I have nothing against anyone making a buck, but IMHO you are using this forum to schmooze the other members out of their $.

And YES i'm in a bad mood! :yh:
