so a friend of mine bought a cheap olympus at a radio shack while I was stopping by to see what resistors they had... oddly enough the 99$ thing works really well. macro mode lets you focus to 2-3" and picture clarity is very good. this could be useful for taking pics of laser components, because we know how tiny they can get haha.
it uses AA batteries,
oh and 5x optical zoom. not many people do that, most sub $200 cameras are 3x
it also has an anti shake feature. I have no idea how it works but if you take pics while shaking the camera, they turn out half way decent. its scary.
cons are it uses "xD picture card" type cards, but that doesn't matter because radioshack currently has an offer where you get a one gig free with it (25$ ish)
