I don't know about IR, but my cat can see my blu-ray's beam looking at it perpendicular!

and my blu-ray is a bit underpowered, I only have it running at about 36 mA.

i thought it'll be cool to have a low powerd ir laser to carry with you on public ,and to have fun with cats ..
