Ok so I wanna get a Brushless RTR Truck or buggy. I've narrowed it down between the HPI Savage Flux HP and the Traxxas E-Revo.

The HPI Savage Flux HP seems to look a bit more sturdy and well built and has so much power that it can do a standing backflip even though it's 4WD!!! And it's a tad cheaper. ;D

On the other hand I like the look of the Traxxas E-Revo a little better because it has a lower center of gravity and it comes with a Castle Creations Mamba Max 2200kV stock!!!

I would get the Traxxas. It is kinda like the Trex (heli) of RC cars.

they both look good... i would actually go for the E-Revo...

im more of a nitro r/c type of dude... just the sound of the engine n watchin the blue smoke go flyin... BUT the gas for 20% nitrio is 20 bucks... it can get expensive...

(does anyone know where theres any good glow plugs for the engine? mine keep burning out)

I use supertigre sport glowplugs. I'm still running the same glowplug in my plane for the last 4 years.

Yeah I am leaning toward the E-Revo.

The LiPo batteries are gonna be so expensive. But I did find these. A 3 cell 2.4Ah Lipo will run over 100 bone at Hobby People. And I need 2!!!

You might be running it too lean, maybe just richen it up a little.

Revo, i have seen these go threw some crazy stuff and still keep on going ;D Look for a used one i have seen some go for about $400 with some hop-ups.

That actually looks pretty cool! I like how there are a lot of aluminum parts too. 1/8th scale buggys are a lot of fun.

I wish it was just $600!!! The truck itself is $650, and if you want to go from 0 to 60MPH (100KPH) in 4 seconds then you need some good batteries. At max power the discharge current on the battery is very high. LiPo (Lithium Polymer) batteries are the only kind that can cope, and they are very expensive! For 1 LiPo 5000mAh 22.2v battery, bare in mind I would need 2 for this truck, it can cost over $250! Two of these will be so much torque, it's insane! It would resemble a drag racer. Even with it's very low center of gravity it will flip if you gun it from a dead stop.

However that is the extreme. But I will still probably spend close to $200 on batteries and chargers.

Dude, do not skimp on LIPO packs. Spend the money on good packs. I use Thunder Power in my trex. Don't forget you'll need a good charger for the packs. I use a Hobbico Accu-Cycle Elite. It's programmable and can charge all current types of packs you can buy from NICAD to NIMH to LIPO. And you can't use LIPOs without a balancer.

For transmitter, without a Spektrum, it's just an expensive toy.

I don't get why people will spend $500+ on the truck kit alone, then buy the cheapest batteries/charger/transmitter available. These 3 accessories should add up to 40% the total cost in the end, if not more. Build within your means and know your limits. if you're building a top of the line truck, then build a top of the line kit. If you can't afford it, step down to a T MAXX.

Burshless smokes nitro.

I'm not gonna skimp on batteries. I know that a brushless is crap without good batteries.

I'm sure the Spektrum neat but I'm not gonna fork over another 250 bone for a fancy radio that does the same thing.

Oh trust me, it does not do the same thing. That's like saying a calculator does the same as a computer. You can program every aspect of every servo. Motor RPMs and power curves. Everything else is just an xmod.

XMODS PWN! lol and you CAN mod them to use 2.4ghz radios and whatnot. I had mine pushing 60k RPM at over 40mph lol but in the end it can't handle 3 amps :-/ it's still my favorite rc car i've ever had!
