Oh no, they just wanted to congratulate me on finding such a great deal on a butterfly knife. They wanted to try it for themselves, so they've borrowed it for a little while..

They'll send it back soon, I'm sure =D

:O should have read this topic earlier. Last year I emailed customs concerning balisongs/butterflies and they said that it is illegal as its spring loaded or can open due to gravity or something.

Well it's not spring loaded, and was gonna say that it can't open on gravity alone, but it can.But I'm sure customs officers don't know that, so you can assure them that it can't? :D

yes, it took them 3 and a half months to tell me about it.

Since I ordered it, I noticed that butterfly knives are specifically prohibited, so no negotiating there. I'm going to see if anyone in Oz has one.

Thats probably because of the same reason lasers are banned.Public is too stupid to realize that a butterfly knife is no more dangerous than any other kitchen knife or whatever. :p

Hell, I can get a manual release knife open faster and they're legal. You wouldn't believe how fast I can get a fixed-blade knife open!

I REALLY want a fully auto knife... They're legal in Texas if used for "collection" purposes.
