^^^ LMFAO

Public lasershows in the USA a strictly controlled with varianced PJs and compliant operators.
Insurance is needed . And much much more.

However a show closed to the public need not strictly follow these guidelines, especially considering all attendees and all guests must sign a waiver to enter the venue. (and thus the requirement of 18yrs or older) Younger laser enthuasists can attend with a parent or guardian and PRIOR approval ONLY. LEMs are not for small children sorry.
If you have any questions about this^^^ please Pm me, TY
Paying in full at the door is premitted but you wil forefit your shirt as no extras are normally printed.

By doing TEXLEM privately we can view the show from anywhere in the venue including on stage.
With some limitations, of course.
AND as most of us are staying at the venue we can do shows as long as people are watching them. There are 10 'dorm' rooms at the venue(dont count on having your own) we each need to bring air mattress or foam pad and sleeping bag/pillow. There is a big bathroom/ showers There is also a big kitchen.

We can see the pjs up close and talk with thier respective owners and in some cases he actual builders. You will never get any opportunity like this except at a LEM. Make friends with guys who you later may need help from on your projects.(invaluable!!)

You will see lasers and PJs that cannot be seen elsewhere, at least not up-close

Shows are displayed with a wide variety of music genres. Usually some free style hands-on shows are also displayed.

The cost?

We are hoping for that to be $60 or less. The plan is to give $25 of that to the venue(URBAN 15) even tho they apparently are not asking a fee,,, we want to be invited back every year so...

We are asking for guests of attendees(not laserists) to pay $20 each to enjoy the lasershows and join us for the Sat nite feast. Other meals(Friday Chili and more) and a brunch on Sat and Sun( funded by the TIP JAR) Coffee will be out by 8 AM- food 10 to noon.

Once we give URBAN 15 $25 each...
that leaves~ $35 . Each paying attendee gets a nice quality Logo Embrodered Pre shrunk quality T Shirt --they will cost TEXLEM ~$15.

leaving ~$20
to cover the cost of the BBQ dinner on Sat. and the dozen or so insidental costs. WE will be asking for food money donations in a 'TIP JAR' at the other meals- wanna eat?? help us out.

I the highly unlikely event that there is ANY unspent money left that will go the URBAN 15, to Help PL & PL owner Robert, or both. It would be super if we had enough $$ to fly Robert in from LA.

Also we greatly appreciate help with the many many tasks that need to be covered. Do NOT say 'IF you need help just ask me' instead just find any of the steering committee guys and ask 'What can I do to help'

Considering the free 'lodging' at the venue and the great meals at bargain cost. I would hope gratitude would be shown in whatever way you can..

Or you can pay for a room at a hotel and pay resturant prices for your food. (btw you still pay to attend same difference)

Any wishing to be of even more help can arrive early and stay late.

There will be a brainstorming seminar on LUMIA, which is a great way to do simple, yet amazing things with your lasers(even handhelds) without much cost. Good deals on lumia kits will be offered.

Many Great doorprizes were given out the last two years that I attended at SELEM, some worth >$200. I was very fortunate both at SELEM IV and V winning a $200 gift certificate and a 225$ Beam Combining kit.----WOOT!!
I expect a simlar drawing to be at TEXLEM.

Masterpj is flying in from the Netherlnds and will demo Pango 'Beyond' and he is a brilliant show designer and is super friendly and helpful to all. His help is priceless.

Want to learn more??

Visit the 'meets n greets' section at PL= SEE the vids and pics from past LEMs at PL and youtube there are many to view and of course thy do not do justice compared to viewing in person.

About the only complaint I EVER heard was that it was that the events were too short. Some said a week long LEM would be even better.

Take notes- You may want to host your own LEM some day--I did and had NO REGRETS.
"Any LEM of two or more attendees is a good LEM"

We are hoping Adam (Buffo) wil be our guest at TEXLEM-he has been the head honcho for the SELEM events-- prolly the biggest, and best run LEM in the world. He has experienced every aspect and could teach LEM 101. He taught me most everything I now know about LEMs. Maybe we will have Buffo Q&A on LEMS while at TEXLEM. Adam deserves LEM without the work IMHO. You will enjoy meeting him.
UPDATE Buffo has a flight resv. to TEXLEM so...confidence is high
there should be a seminar/Q&A on how to hold a LEM by the 'LEMMaster' Adam 'buffo'. He is also offered to do a class on tuning your PJ.

Expect to see more than 6 full color pjs linked together. Maybe many more.
Polishedball (John) is trying to come down from Michigan with a 7WATT Lumia display!!!! He wants to do a Great Lakes LEM up his way.

An area will be set aside for BS&T tables-- bring anything you want to BS or T.

THere is a thread for this which allows others to know in advance what to expect, what they want and some deals are made prior to the event. (DIBBS) The BS&T tables are operated pretty much on the honor system. This frees us up to enjoy the shows w/o needing to babysit out items.. PLEASE respect this and if you see something on the tables that you want just put a 'sold' note on the item and go find the owner to complete the deal.... NEVER just leave money on the tables.. that happened once last year at SELEM and was NOT acceptable.

At URBAN 15 we do not have to stop and leave the venue each nite. We can run shows as long as we can stand it!!!

PS

You may bring pointers/handhelds to TEXLEM but there are 'rules' that you must follow,,, a thread on that will be posted at LPF as the event date nears. They are not unreasonable rules , just common sense and courtesy. NO LASING outdoors at all at the venue site--

PM me to be put on the list or make a post at PL in the offical sign-up thread at PL.

We will be asking for your money and shirt size(s)around the end of the year.

hope this has been helpful and looking fwd to meeting you at TEXLEM!!!!

took this tonite at Tim Walsh(TEXLEM host and former Pre of ILDA)
Tim on the left , and Greg in the middle- not sure why we were not all smiling.

NEXT TEXLEM olanning meeting is next Friday at Tims laser show in Pearland at the Pavillion. Join Greg and I to sit in or fwd your questions to one of us.

:yabbem:I have been working on a possible GB for Pangolin Laser Software.(Probably the only way I could ever afford it)
I found a good price but the vendor was in China- shippping was $43 and who knows how long the wait would be. They wanted the money to be sent by Western Onion--no thanks!

Today that all changed.
To get the same/better prices we do not need to do it as a GB.

A new USA Pangolin dealer has allowed me to help them launch the product to thier line and we can get the same prices I found from the China vendor- with only ~15$ to ship from the USA. :thanks:

Have your Pangolin in days not weeks- an 800-toll free number is offered to check on shipping etc.

PM me to get the info.

*************************************:D GREAT NEWS!!!

I will be teaching new animation technique's, quicker and better drawing technique's.
and flash optimization technique's
These both cover 2D animation and are tips and tricks you DONT wanna miss if you dont wanna be left out in the dark with laser graphics.
These are my tips and tricks which i like the best.
For instance, i made images so complex scanning at 30kpps using my technique's which will seriously stun u.
And I have found the fastest way to draw circkles and eye glitters and stuff in 2D so fast and point efficient (this is also a drawing trick)

Here a example i have laying around, attention they do not flicker.
No exposure tricks, in fact i can't do exposure tricks, since i'm using an Iphone 4 to photograph this.

Secondly off course 3D graphics will be covered in a certain fashion which i still am tinkering out.

Still not convinced?
Well I created a facebook fanpage a few days ago and i went out posting certain laser art in a specific category,
a week later i ended up with this:

fansx.png

(This is not a single person from PL as i haven't spread it on any laserforum on purpose ;) )
I wanted to test out myself how quick i could create a fanbase of my work.. and woa it go's fast.
(the 2nd amount indicates how many people are talking about it)
