I think you read this the same way I did... he's talking about low frequency material in music, not actually musical material for the bass guitar.

As for low freq, just search around for things like bass technik or similar. They make songs specifically heavy on sub-bass frequencies.

BTW, my system for basement parties back in college consists of a dual 18" sub powered with 1800W amp and two horn-loaded 15" mains with 350W each. Shakes the house. And, if you're looking to power some speakers, I have some REAL amps, none of that home stereo receiver crap, these things will put out a true 1000W or power (or more), though they weigh like >20lbs each (one Crown amp I have weighs ~50lbs!).
I have a real amp  and it puts out 1000W which is about the max for the speaker though even at max volume it doesn't bottom out at all

Whatcha got? ;)

Also, one lesson to learn about audio, power isn't everything... a speaker can be rated for 1000W, but it can also have crap efficiency, like 85db @ 1W, 1m and will be only half as loud as a speaker capable of 95db @ 1W,1m (at the same power). Increase the number of drivers (speakers) and that will improve the peak SPL as well as having less distortion. And a well tuned cabinet and crossover (passive or active) can work wonders.

I bet! 121db is pretty good for in the house. Is this car audio speaker/amp that you imported to the house? Or are you sticking home or pro audio stuff in your car? ;D

I haven't measured my basement stuff, but I use them in the basement at my mom's house (well, until I graduate and get my own place that is big enough), which is sort of L shaped and something like 2500sq ft. It gets plenty loud, though I think one or both drivers may need reconed to get them working to full potential, but that will cost about $130 each :-/

I just drag that 60lb box I call a subwoofer into my truck and play it in there hooked up to a power inverter, the voltage to my battery drops whenever the bass hits lol. for the 5 satellites and the sub and the amp it cost $250 new
