I wouldn't be suprised to see that on the news to show "exactly what laser terrorists are attempting to accomplish. This was posted on the internet to show what their goals should be"

But seriously, this is what people think now because of all the bad press lasers are getting.
it's ridiculous.

yeah ever since the military invented lasers to disarm bombs people now think portable lasers are the exact same thing. People have asked me if my laser can cut through doors, break locks, and chop cars in half, hahaha.

If my laser could chop cars in half I'd be outside clearing forests and etching mustaches on Mt. Rushmore.

Main things my friends/family have asked me about lasers:

-Can you colour the lens on the front to make it a different colour?
-Can you melt steel?
-Does it cause cancer?

They also have no idea what divergance is. They seem to have the idea that it keeps its beam diameter indefinitely.

mortals believe the bigger the dot, the cooler the laser!
a lot of friends told me WHOA THAT DOT IS BIG! "it's BAD" -what? its cool!

yeah I've seem to of noticed this, people think a bigger dot is better...hmm... I wonder if they would think a 100W fine focused dot or a  100W 5 foot unfocused dot is better? although it probably wouldnt burn anything (or would it?)

o yeah, people all the time ask me if i point it at a star if it really touches the star, they also ask this about the moon. lol.

how many W's are required to pass the earth's atmostphere?
