avi to gif? best program?

What's the best way to go about converting .avi to .gif? I cannot seem to find anything that will do it. I used to use Total Video Converter, which used to work, but now they come out with messed up colors. :undecided:

So what do you guy use to convert avi to gif?

the last couple of times i tried i just googled it and found some online converters. that way you dont have to install and uninstall programs if they dont work.
