Figured id share this one.. My father in laws 60th B-Day is tomorrow,
thought making his gift was better than buying and given his taste
an idea was had.. :eg:
Took about 4hrs from start to finish, but got it done and just need to test..
I will try to add some video later as well..
This is a 35mm long by 18mm dia brass cannon on a milled aluminum
stand. The bore is 4.5mm which is a perfect fit for standard size BB's
(.177 cal.).
I added a taper to the cannon of 2deg and went for a somewhat authentic
look.. I still have to put the stand in the anodize tank, and add final touches.
This was a fun little project that will look nice in his display cabinet
Kinda wished I made 2, as this is the first that I have made... I'm thinking
of making a scaled down Howitzer for myself at a later date...
Cant wait to test this little guy and see what kind of power it has.
On a side note, while brass is fun to work with, it is a PITA to TAP
the threads... nearly ran into a problem there, but got it done.
