anyone have awesome ideas for diy projects?

kinda only have $1k to play with, unless i can make something worth selling. anything get you guys geeked? something you'd make with a more substantial budget? dreams are practical enough sometimes
oh, and thoughts on what to do with a friend's 120 kv transformer?

120kV? LOTS of fun stuff there. For starters.. xray radiography! Some other options would be Jacobs Ladder, plasma speaker, tesla coil, ion generators, mass launcher, can crusher, wire exploders, etc.

There's also lots of fun laser stuff in that budget... argon ion, HeCd, krypton ion, NdYAG, Ruby, non-tea Nitrogen, or a really nice CO2 laser.

with half that dough and half of those 120KV, you could make a nice chair for the Mother-In-Law...
