walking on your hands works out your stomach muscles and back and arms and shoulders all at once, and keeps you flexable

I used to do Ju-Jistu- got to orange belt and was formidable on 'ground work'. Sadly I had to stop with the post op nerve damage I got :-[ I also can lift >15KG greater than my body weight on a pull up.... set of 7-10 on a good day...

maybe time to start again?

so we think that eating more meat, fish and eggs will help and see where that takes me- and possibly protein shakes and to the extreme of creatine only if necessary?

question: does the muscle you build up vanish when you stop taking protein/creatine and does it turn to fat?

[/quote]
it doesn't really go away or turn to fat but it gets weaker if you stop using it a lot. I stopped working out for a long time before just to see (maybe just being lazy) I still had all my muscle but it was a bit harder than I remembered before to do a pull up. instead of a set of 30 I could only do like 22 before my arms ached

You should also be aware that your body doesn't utilize all the protein you eat; alot of it ends up in the toilet ;D. At $30 a container of drink mix, it's not cheap to be crapping (and flushing) half it down the toilet...

After a tough workout, protein works wonders for me. *My recovery is noticably (by a couple of days) quicker if I drink a protein shake after a mountaineering trip. *On one of these trips, though, I can burn upwards of 10,000 calories in 36 hours.

For only a shorter duration, I would go with natural protein. *Eggs are great, and so is soy.

When I'm coming down the mountain, though, in the last couple of miles, all I can think about is meat, MEAT, MEAT!

bee pollen lot's of it nature's superfood . get the fresh stuff not the freeze dried stuff .take small amount's @ 1st so your body can get used to it . then take 1/4 - 1/2 cup mix with whatever you want before you workout . your workout's will last much longer . it will make you feel superhuman . i'm not kiding big time boost . i use it to train and when i compete in x-country mountain biking .the best part is it's all natural and yes it will help you build muscles

Protein shakes and bars have never really worked for me; natural protein doesn't seem to speed up my "recovery" either... But then again I probably train differently than most people here...
