Any love for mechanical keyboards?

Hey guys, I am new to the mechanical keyboard scene but i am here for the long run. Typing before was just something that i never thought about, just did. Now, i look forward to when i have to type just because i love clicking my keys asdfhasdfhiausdfh;. OH IT FEELS SO GOOD. I have Cherry MX Blue switches in my rosewill keyboard. First heard of them from /r/mechanicalkeyboards and they convinced me to drop $70 on one from newegg. Anyways, im glad they did! Since then, i have bought some custom keys from qwerkeys.co.uk and from a keypop.net. Still waiting on my keys from thwe UK, shipping is taking forever. Heres a picture of my board right now!

I have one too, I love the noise it makes and the feel of they key presses.

With all other keyboards I've had keys jam or get stuck but never with my mechanical keyboard.

What color are the switches in your board?

I have Cherry MX Blue switches in mine as well. Older Razer black widow ultimate.

I bought it back when I was into Starcraft, but now I don't game any more so it's only for typing. I prefer the sharp tactile bump that's almost instantly after you press.

I love how they kind of just snap when you press them. It's refreshing haha

Can't really tell from the pic above, but it looks like your LPM is sensor side up, you should place it sensor side down so dust doesn't get on the sensor area.

Getting mechanical keyboards (one for home one for office) is one of those little things I don't know why I didn't do earlier.

I really can't stand using laptop or shitty almost flat, zero feedback keyboards now. Typing speed is much improved also.

I'm using the first generation Razer Blackwidow, and Blackwidow Ultimate (ultimate for home

). If either dies I will definitely be replacing it.

I might try the brown switches next time though... supposed to have the same feel to it, minus the highly audible click. Personally I love the clicking sound, but apparently it can be quite annoying to some people. My old neighbors (since moved out) complained that sometimes it would sound like machine gun fire in the middle of the night

You mean like those buckling spring keys featured in the old Model M keyboards? I still have quite a few Model Ms, some being originals from 1984. They're worth quite a bit now, around the price they used to sell for back then (~$100) up to $250 for some vintage keyboards. I swapped mine out for a different keyboard after friends said it was too damn loud when using voice chat while playing games.

You can still buy those original keyboards from sites like Clicky Keyboards. New buckling-spring keyboards are manufactured by Unicomp, who owns the rights to the key tech now. I even bought one of those "modern" USB buckling-spring keyboards before finding that the keys still stuck somewhat with the "I" key (happens with those sometimes). So I returned it.

I have replaced the LED's. They have been on for so long that the brightness isn't even anymore and low on light output. They are almost worn out.
I have used up the 50,000 hours runtime

The mechanical keys are still going strong.

Any love for mechanical keyboards?
