Just wondering if anyone here has experience owning or shooting the Xisico line of springer airguns? I've shot springers before (RWS, Airhawk, etc) but the reviews on these Chinese springers are pretty nice - I'm thinking of either the XS-B26-2 or the XS-B25 in .22 just for fun shooting around the estate with the kids, anyone have an opinion on either rifle? Thanks in Advance!

The only thing I own in that kind of field is this: http://www.dealextreme.com/details.dx/sku.19526

It's a real nice weighted gun feels good to hold and has a nice finish, I got it while I was away for a while and was searching DX and found it on there. When I was in France there were so many shops with air rifles and higher end guns like that, I had to refrain my self from buying any lol.

Aaaah - I think we're DEFINITELY talking different animals, although that's a pretty cool looking little pistol!

The XS-B25 is a clone of the RWS Model 34, but at a price point right around $300 less, the specs as rated (pre-tuned) are 820fps with (I believe) an 11gr .22cal pellet - with ponts, these are supposed to be capable of penetrating 3 layers of 3/4" pine at 30yds, while also maintaining an accuracy of .5" at the same 30yds - the .177 model has been chronograph tested at just over 1000fps with (again, if i remember right) like a 6gr pellet....YIKES!

Do not bother with a Xisico unless you plan to do some disassembly and tuning. If you don't the dieseling effect will damage your mainspring. I recommend gamo, norica or weihrauch(if money permits).

There's a local shop here in Lake Geneva (Aroowsmiths) that offer tuning for springers, although I believe they send them out and don't actually do it in-house, that was my plan based on what I've read up on these rifles... They carry the Airhawks which according to the guys at the shop are actually a BAM/Xisico build for Ruger, with all the same internals, etc as the XS-B25 (which is why I took the leap and ordered one yesterday), I ended up at $154 shipped with 3-9X40 scope, one-piece mount with stop pin, and 1000 pellets (500 point and 500 dome) so the investment wasn't too bad all around...

Anyone have another place that might be a bit better for tuning? I've read alot about this "Charlie Da Tuna" guy but evidently he's retired partially so he only is doing mods and tuning on the XS-B21's - if anyone knows another reliable tuner I'd appreciate it!

Thanks!

I own a CZ Slavia 631 Lux. Not a howitzer of an air rifle, but pretty damn accurate. Usually shoot 10m any way. It is spot on over 20m at least in my hands.

Sorry can't really help you with your question though, not to knowledgeable when it comes to the different companies, bought this one on a friends suggestion and it is all I will ever need.

Post up pics and specs of your rifle when you get it though. :gun:

Well the rifle arrived today, beautiful little beastie for the $$ (pics to be posted later this afternoon) BUT they shipped the rifle and scope but no scope rings and the wrong caliber pellets... A quick Email to the vendor straightened that out (replacements priority shipped today) ...

Onto the gun itself, nice fit and finish, but LOTs of oil in and on it (I'm assuming that's to ensure nothing gets messed up from shipping, warehousing, etc) so a quick cleaning and a trip to grab some .22 wadcutters and onto the fun part, shooting! First, cocking these springers is NOT an easy task for the uninitiated, it takes a considerable effort and it's probably going to be awhile before it becomes natural - anyhow the first few shots diesled pretty good (even after a good bore cleaning) and were accompanied by smoke, etc but about 10 shots in the gun settled down (and quieted down too, hell at first this thing SOUNDED like a .22 rifle) and shoots relatively smoothly, just a little sight adjustment and I had no problems pegging 5" pieces of 2X4 at 40yds every shot - the best part is the power of this thing, it splits the 2X4's like balsa - VERY nice!

Next, I set up a couple of pieces of 1X pine to see how far this would penetrate, first shot went through 1 and into the second, next shot penetrated both pieces (barely - I'm sure with point pellets this thing might be able to get through 3 at 20yds or so), so not bad for a $150 air rifle...

I'll post some pix later on - right now I'm gonna get in a few more shots before I have to go set up tonights show!

(The scope obviously isn't mounted yet but this gives an idea of the looks of it:)

Brewcity - Although the dieseling has appeared to have stopped, I suggest you clean out the chamber before you continue shooting it. Even a small amount of dieseling will break the mainspring over time. If the gun has completely stopped dieseling, it could indicate that all the lube has been burned off. Also, I suggest getting a scope rated for use on springers; most are not and will end up getting rattled to pieces by the vibrations...

Thanks for the tip, DB! I went ahead and cleaned the bore (the old "goo-gone" trick) and ran a patch with a couple of drops of the recomended lube (from our local Archery/Airgun shop) and it still seems to be shooting just fine, I'll occasionally get a tiny bit of smoke in the barrel after a shot but it seems to be worse with cheap pellets (or maybe it just seems that way)...

I got the scope with the rifle, it's an RF3-9X40AO by Xixico that was specifically designed for Springers - I finally recieved the scope mount today (1-piece rail with stop pin) so later this afternoon when the weather clears up I'm planning on sighting it in, prob gonna try it at 40yds first (the distance I'll be doing most of my shooting at, hopefully) but if the results aren't great then I'll redo it at 30.

Hopefully I'll be posting some awesome dime-sized groups by nightfall (fingers crossed) ... BTW, DB, is there a forum for these that you would recommend? Thanks in advance!

Very nice! how many ft/lbs is that? seems very poweful for the price!.

Here in the UK we are restricted to 12ft/lbs max unless we get the gun on ticket (Fire Arms Certificate and too much hassle for an amateur shooter like me) :(
