advertising

how does lpf advertise? it have so many members!!

It has so many members because this was the only forum up after the LC turned "communist", so many former LC members moved over to the LPF right before or right after the LC went bad. Then SenKat did his 16x diode group buy and this thing exploded. It wasn't really advertising that got this thing huge, it was just the group buys with stuff that you couldn't get anywhere else for the price, and the LC going bad.

And it's still considered by most to be the best unbiased laser forum on the net. I recommend it to anyone interested in lasers.
And it's still going! 5000 members when i joined, then for a while I got used to saying over 7000, now look 8900+!
It's the wealth of knowledge we have, the deals you can't get anywhere else and the general laser hobbyist collection of people here I think that makes it such a great place.

LPF doesn't pay for any advertising as far as I know, 8900+ members ALL by word of mouth!1!!!

After a while, a forum promotes itself. Just like my Spyro Forum, I need not advertise anymore.

It was mainly in instructables about lasers, SenKats diodes were a big hit and contributed ALOT of members to this forum. It is the first result on google for laser pointer forums, and i have seen a few sites either backlinked or linked to this site.
