Looke what I found in a motorola battery pack. Three 18650 cells.
Their from Sanyo, model numberer UR18650F

Comcast swapped out our modem a few weeks ago. Our old modem had this battery pack to help keep the phone service active, in a power failure.

I originally removed the battery because the modem was acting up, once or twice a day. Every time I went to reset the modem, I would have to remove the stupid battery pack. So I just left it out and forgot about it.

It's not like I'm going to call comcrap to come and get their battery. Knowing them, if I were to call, they would tell me not to worry about it. Then turn around around charge me for it.

So I cracked it open. Three nice sanyo 18650 cells.:D

When I built my very first laser I used the battery out of a defunct mobile phone I had knocking around. 3.7V 800mAh.... I know they are no good for the flashlight type host but I seriously hope people start looking at them for their 7-colour builds. They are ideal. Even comes with a charger that tells you when they are full! I went to my local mobile phone shop today and got given a handfull for free! (Going into my next project)

rangedunits;

That number could be 2100mah or the newer 2400mah.

I have used both capacities.

Yea Larry, How does sanyo distinguish the new 2600mah from the older 2400 cells. I have googled the UR18650F model number and I get both specs for the 2600 and the 2400. Your the 18650 expert

Inside a car battery there are approximately 1,500 AA batteries. :crackup:

What worries me is the people who actually went to try this, and got acid over everything on their bench, including themselves :/

I have Sanyo 18650 in five capacities:

2200mah - Orange seal at positive end
2400mah - Green seal at positive end
2600mah - Light-Blue seal at positive end
2700mah - Marked 2A7
2800mah - Marked 2A8

They all have the transparent red shrink cover.
